Come explore Novanta.\n\nJob Description\nThis position is part of Novanta’s Cambridge Technology business unit.\nCambridge Technology designs, develops, and manufactures innovative laser beam steering solutions including galvanometer and polygon-based optical scanning components, 2-axis and 3-axis scan heads, scanning subsystems, high power scanning heads, and controlling hardware and software. Key markets include advanced industrial and electronics processes, laser-based medical procedures, and scientific applications.\nSummary\nThe ideal candidate will be a confident and highly organized self-starter with some applications knowledge, communication and technical problem-solving skills to ensure execution of our quality standards and customer on time delivery metrics.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nAble to read, understand, and adhere to work instructions, BOMs, and assembly drawings \nUsage of hand tools properly and safely\nMechanical assembly of product within acceptable quality and output levels \nSoldering of cables, wires and through hole devices within acceptable quality limits \nInspect product and properly identify non-conformances\nProperly operate pass/fail test equipment (ALTF, PD Test, etc.)\nCleanliness and workstation clean up through 5S standards\nGeneral Tasks\nStrict compliance with the quality, occupational safety, and environmental regulations.\nImplementation of the instructions of the quality / environmental management representative and the occupational safety specialist\nRequired Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies\nTeam player with strong computer, written, verbal and skills\nPrevious experience with opto-electronics and PCB commodities, \nWorking experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma environments\nFamiliar and knowledgeable with QMS standards (ie: ISO 9001)\nBasic knowledge and practice of ESD and 5S principles\nSafety and chemical awareness\nPreferred - IPC solder requirements verified (Consistently meet IPC requirements; tested per IPC610 requirements)\nTravel Requirements\nNone\nPhysical Requirements\nNone\nCompensation\nThe salary for this role will range from $19 to $22 per hour based on full-time employment.
