Come explore Novanta.\nJob Description\nSummary\nThe ideal candidate will be a confident and highly organized self-starter with some applications knowledge, communication and technical problem-solving skills to ensure execution of our quality standards and customer on time delivery metrics.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nAble to read, understand, and adhere to work instructions, BOMs, and assembly drawings\n\nUsage of hand tools properly and safely\n\nMechanical assembly of product within acceptable quality and output levels\n\nSoldering of cables, wires and through hole devices within acceptable quality limits\n\nInspect product and properly identify non-conformances\n\nProperly operate pass/fail test equipment (ALTF, PD Test, etc.)\n\nBy working with the Team Lead your able to identify potential root causes for issues identified in the assembly process\n\nCross train other employees\n\nAble to suggest and help implement process improvement activities\n\nHelps lead 5S initiatives and daily cycle counts\n\nUnderstand and interpret test results/plots, and basic failure modes\n\nCan perform rework when required\n\nCleanliness and workstation clean up through 5S standards\n\nPreferred: IPC solder requirements verified (Consistently meet IPC requirements; tested per IPC610 requirements)\n\nPreferred: IPC Solder certified (designated sections of J-STD 001)\n\nGeneral Tasks\nMaintain strict compliance with the quality, environmental and occupational health and safety regulations and implementation of the instructions of the quality, environmental management and/or occupational health and safety officer.\n\nRequired Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies\nAbility to multitask and willingness to learn different assembly requirements\n\nPrevious experience with opto-electronics and PCB commodities,\n\nWorking experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma environments\n\nFamiliar and knowledgeable with QMS standards (ie: ISO 9001)\n\nTeam player with strong computer, written, verbal and skills\n\nBasic knowledge and practice of ESD and 5S principles\n\nSafety and chemical awareness\n\nTravel Requirements\nNone\n\nPhysical Requirements\nLifting to 50 pounds,\n\nStanding long periods of time\n\nThe salary for this role will range from $22 to $26 per hour based on full-time employment.
