The position involves system-level design of motion control solutions and detailed design of control electronics, power management, and communication interfaces for industrial and medical motion applications. Working closely with cross-functional teams and customers, the role supports both standard platforms and customized solutions from concept through production, with a strong emphasis on reliability, manufacturability, and long-term product performance.\nThe selected engineer will be focused on the hardware design of the Servo Drives division, potentially collaborating in any of the R&A products design. The position requires good hardware skills but also a deep understanding of design for manufacturing and reliability.\nCome join a team of deeply knowledgeable engineers that strive to build the most reliable, efficient motion control systems using the newest development tools and practices as well as state of the art power electronics.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nDevelop and maintain the hardware running the R&A products, with special focus on Servo Drives\nDesign new and redesign existing electronic circuits, including schematic and layout.\nConduct detailed circuit analysis and optimize designs through effective component selection and performance evaluation, including circuit simulation.\nHands-on new hardware board bring-up, system debugging, and optimization.\nReview and improve external documentation (Product manuals, Datasheets, etc.).\nImprove internal documentation (Architecture, Detailed Design, etc.).\nCollaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams and stakeholders to align technical requirements and solutions.\nCommunicate effectively with customers and suppliers to support product development and integration.\nRequired Experience and Education\nMinimum requirements:\nMs o PhD in Electrical Engineering or Industrial Engineering, or technical related discipline\nMinimum working experience 2 years\nExperience with Electronic circuit technology design and assembly processes\nBackground in electrical power applications\nExperience with PCB / PCA manufacturing processes\nExperience in electronics verificaton and validation\nAbility to write technical documents such as assembly instructions, test procedures, and test and analysis reports\nAltium Designer proven experience\nFluent written and spoken Spanish and English.\nNice to have requirements:\nCapacity to analyze a problem from multiple perspectives and explore creative solutions\nPositive, proactive, and energic attitude\nHigh attention to detail with a desire for excellence\nExperience in Version Control Systems (Git, SVN)\nGeneral Motion control or robotics knowledge (motors types, feedbacks, controls, etc.).\nIndustrial communication protocols (EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, Profinet, CANOpen)\nExperience in Certification Process (CE, UL, Safety, etc.)\nExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills\nAbility to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.\nNovanta is proud to be an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action workplace.
