Come explore Novanta.\nSenior Software Engineer\nLocation: Stockport, UK\nBusiness: Novanta Light Engines\nYou will design and deliver software that supports manufacturing, quality, engineering and R&D across a global laser technology business. You will work with C# and modern .NET frameworks to build tools that support critical processes, improve reliability and introduce automation where it matters.\nWhat you will do\nLead the design of software system architectures and document them for use by the wider team.\nDevelop desktop and device applications using C#.\nIdentify opportunities to improve workflows through automation.\nWork with web technologies such as ASP.NET and Blazor.\nBuild user interfaces using WPF and Windows Forms.\nDevelop communication interfaces for hardware using RS232 and Ethernet.\nCreate SQL database interactions.\nApply unit and integration testing.\nProduce technical and user documentation.\nCoach team members on coding standards and development practices.\nWhat you bring\nAs a candidate for this role of Senior Software Engineer, you should ideally have;\nDegree in Computer Science, Physics or similar discipline.\nStrong experience in C# and .NET 6 or later.\nExperience with ASP.NET or Blazor is an advantage.\nExperience with C for embedded platforms is an advantage.\nPython experience for data analysis is useful.\nVBA or VB6 skills are useful.\nQt GUI experience is useful.\nAbility to create UML documentation.\nStrong analytical and organizational skills.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision.\nClear communication skills and effective teamwork.\nAbout Novanta Light Engines\nNovanta designs and manufactures solid-state and ultrafast laser sources used in medical systems, research labs and advanced industrial equipment.
