Establishes and approves scientific methods for design and implementation of clinical protocols, data collection systems and final reports. Support new and ongoing clinical research and clinical trials and ensure efficient and timely processing of confidentiality agreements and clinical agreements\nJob Description\nKey Responsibilities:\n1. Translational Strategy & Program Leadership\nDefine and execute integrated translational strategies across neurodegeneration programs\nLead translational components from preclinical → Phase 1/2 clinical studies\nDrive program progression through key decision gates (e.g., IND, TDP, IDPA)\nEnsure strong mechanistic linkage between target biology, biomarkers, and clinical endpoints\n\n2. Biomarker & Endpoint Leadership\nCollaborate with Biomarker Development colleagues toward development and validation of:Molecular biomarkers (tissue, blood, CSF where applicable)\nFunctional endpoints (strength, mobility, disease-specific measures)\nPatient-reported outcomes (PROs)\nEstablishing quantitative biomarkers to support:Target engagement\nDisease modification\nDose selection and PoC decisions\n\nIntegrate biomarker strategy into clinical protocols and operational plans\nDrive early biomarker de-risking, a key priority in neuromuscular programs\n\n3. Early Clinical Development (Phase 1/2)\nCo-lead design and execution of early clinical studies\nDefine:Dose escalation strategy\nExposure-response framework\nTranslational endpoints (biopsy, imaging, functional)\n\nEnsure TM leadership within Clinical Trial Teams (CTTs) for:Trial design\nExecution oversight\nData interpretation and decision-making\n\n4. Cross-Functional Leadership\nServe as core Translational Medicine representative within global project teams\nPartner closely with:Clinical Development\nBiomarker Development\nClinical Pharmacology (PKS)\nPreclinical Safety (PCS)\nRegulatory\n\nDrive alignment between research, TM, and development organizations\n\n5. External Scientific Leadership\nBuild and lead collaborations with:Academic KOLs\nPatient advocacy groups (critical in rare neuromuscular disease)\nTechnology partners (imaging, omics platforms)\n\nContribute to scientific strategy and external positioning of programs\n\n6. Patient-Centered Development\nIntegrate the patient voice into translational and clinical strategies\nAdvance:Meaningful functional endpoints\nPatient-relevant outcome measures\nInnovative trial approaches (e.g., decentralized models where feasible)\n\n7.
