This is an opportunity to stay close to the code while shaping solutions with users and turning promising prototypes into secure, scalable products with measurable impact.\nJob Description\nKey Responsibilities\n· Partner with business and domain teams to translate complex challenges into high-value AI product opportunities.\n· Rapidly prototype, test, and refine solutions through short build, demonstrate, learn cycles with users.\n· Build end-to-end AI applications using Python, TypeScript, React, foundation models, and reusable platform capabilities.\n· Apply AI-assisted development tools and coding agents while ensuring quality, security, and maintainable engineering.\n· Develop retrieval-augmented generation, document intelligence, agentic workflows, and automation for life sciences use cases.\n· Integrate AI products with enterprise application programming interfaces, data platforms, identity services, and authorized business systems.\n· Deploy secure, reliable applications on Amazon Web Services using Amazon Bedrock and appropriate cloud services.\n· Establish automated testing, evaluation, observability, continuous integration and deployment, and sustainable operational practices.\n· Embed privacy, security, traceability, human oversight, and appropriate controls throughout the product lifecycle.\n· Measure adoption and business outcomes, turning successful solutions into reusable capabilities that accelerate future AI products.\nEssential Requirements\n· Approximately 8-12+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years building and delivering production software.\n· Proven ownership of applications or products from problem discovery through deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement.\n· Strong Python expertise with the ability to build complete, production-ready applications beyond notebooks, prompts, or model endpoints.\n· Working-to-advanced TypeScript, JavaScript, and React experience building functional and intuitive user interfaces.\n· Strong engineering fundamentals across application programming interfaces, data modelling, databases, authentication, testing, containers, and cloud deployment.\n· Hands-on experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery practices, building maintainable solutions suitable for production environments.\nDesirable Requirements\n· Experience building generative artificial intelligence solutions using foundation models, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows, and tool integrations.\n· Experience delivering technology solutions within life sciences, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or another regulated environment.\nCommitment to Diversity and Inclusion:\nNovartis is committed to building an outstanding, inclusive work environment and diverse teams' representative of the patients and communities we serve.\nAccessibility and accommodation\nNovartis is committed to working with and providing reasonable accommodation to individuals with disabilities.
