As Senior Manager Tax Planning, you will play a pivotal role in supporting Novartis' Swiss Tax Planning agenda, acting as a trusted advisor on tax planning, financing, structuring, transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. Working closely with Finance, Treasury, Corporate Legal, Global Tax, and business leaders, you will help influence high-impact strategic decisions while ensuring a sustainable and efficient tax position. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise to complex Swiss and cross-border initiatives, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and contribute to the continued success of a global healthcare leader.\nJob Description\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport Swiss tax planning, structuring and reorganization initiatives to support business growth and transformation.\n\nAdvise on cross-border transactions, intellectual property structures and value chain developments.\n\nPartner with Treasury and Legal on financing structures, bond issuances and funding arrangements.\n\nSupport tax due diligence, risk assessments and structuring activities for mergers and acquisitions.\n\nPrepare, negotiate and manage tax rulings with Swiss Tax Authorities.\n\nMonitor tax risks, support audits and ensure compliance with Swiss tax legislation and policies.\n\nBuild trusted relationships across Finance, Treasury, Legal, Global Tax and external advisors.\n\nEssential Requirements\nDegree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, Law or a related discipline.\n\nSignificant experience in Swiss corporate tax planning, structuring and financing matters.\n\nStrong knowledge of Swiss tax legislation and international tax principles.\n\nExperience supporting mergers and acquisitions, due diligence and business restructuring projects.\n\nProven ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders across multiple functions.\n\nExcellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills with a pragmatic business-focused approach.\n\nDesirable Requirements\nProfessional Swiss tax qualification or equivalent advanced tax certification.\n\nExperience within a multinational organization supporting complex cross-border transactions and financing structures.\n\nBenefits & Rewards\nAt Novartis, we’re committed to reimagining medicine together - and rewarding the people who make it happen.\nExpected Annual Base Salary Range for role:115,500 - 214,500 CHF Annual\nThe base salary offered is determined based on gender-neutral objectives, such as relevant skills, competencies and experience in accordance with the Novartis pay setting policy and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically.\nIn addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a performance-based bonus depending on certain performance parameters.\nThe rewards of being part of our team go far beyond base pay and incentives.
