As the Statutory Lead, you will oversee critical accounting, statutory reporting, tax, audit, and financial-control activities while supporting complex analysis and business decisions. You will lead and develop a small team, strengthen reporting systems and processes, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver accurate information within fast-close timelines. You will also champion automation and effective use of SAP, Business Warehouse, and Microsoft Excel to improve efficiency, data quality, and service delivery.\nJob Description\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n· Lead accurate and timely statutory accounting, reporting, forecasting, and fast-close activities for the assigned business scope.\n· Safeguard financial data integrity across tax, inventory, controls, purchasing, payments, actuals, budgets, and latest estimates.\n· Deliver accounting services for fixed assets, cash, divestments, and other financial activities within agreed timelines.\n· Manage audit and tax-reporting processes, providing accurate information to internal stakeholders and external authorities.\n· Lead and develop a small team of Financial Reporting and Accounting specialists, strengthening performance and capabilities.\n· Automate reporting and optimize SAP, Business Warehouse, and Microsoft Excel processes to improve quality and efficiency.\n\nEssential Requirements\n\n· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.\n· Relevant experience in statutory accounting, financial reporting, general accounting, or Financial Reporting and Accounting operations.\n· Extensive knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Mexican Local GAAP, financial close, audit, tax reporting, and internal controls.\n· Previous supervisory or team-lead experience, with the ability to develop specialists and manage performance.\n· Advanced proficiency in SAP, Business Warehouse, and Microsoft Excel for analysis, reporting, and decision-making.\n· Professional English proficiency, with strong analytical, communication, stakeholder-management, and problem-solving skills.\n\nDesirable Requirements\n\n· Experience automating financial reporting and improving accounting systems, controls, or close processes.\n· Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry or another complex, highly regulated environment.\nCommitment to Diversity and Inclusion\n\nNovartis is committed to building an outstanding, inclusive work environment and diverse teams representative of the patients and communities we serve.\n\nAccessibility and Accommodation\n\nNovartis is committed to working with and providing reasonable accommodation to individuals with disabilities.
