Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Novelis has approximately 13,000 employees in 32 operating facilities on 4 continents.\nResponsibilities & Qualifications\nPosition Overview\nThe Novelis Greensboro Operations team is seeking a Casting Operator. This position ensures safe and environmentally sound casting operations while supporting quality, productivity and customer delivery targets. The Casting Operator reviews ingot orders, transfers molten metal, verifies product conformance, maintains casting equipment, manages inventory and shipping documentation, and contributes to continuous improvement and team success.\nResponsibilities\nReview ingot orders and plan production activities to meet customer requirements. \nTransfer molten metal from holders to the casting pit while balancing quality and productivity targets. \nSample, alloy and skim molten metal to meet analysis, product specification and customer requirements. \nDocument and track ingot non-conformances in the Non-Conforming Material Record database. \nMaintain product traceability through accurate production documentation, ingot marking and shipping records. \nPerform routine trough and bottom-block maintenance and maintain molds, ABF, ACD and build beds in operational condition. \nIdentify and report irregularities in equipment or materials and support troubleshooting using lean methods and root cause analysis. \nManage applicable incoming material and finished product inventory. \nOperate forklifts and material-handling equipment safely and efficiently. \nPrepare and execute ingot shipments and maintain accurate inventory and shipping documentation. \nMaintain safe, clean and PSEA-ready work areas in accordance with Novelis standards, environmental requirements and operating procedures. \nComplete accurate, legible and timely production, quality, inventory and shipping records through computer-based systems. \nCollaborate with team members, Maintenance and Process resources to achieve EHSQ, operational and production objectives. \nUse A3 thinking and continuous improvement tools to solve problems and improve performance. \nPerform other assigned duties to support operational requirements. \nMinimum Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED. \nPrior forklift experience. \nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds. \nAbility to work in manufacturing temperatures below 50°F in winter and above 100°F in summer. \nAbility to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, overtime and holidays as scheduled or required. \nEffective oral and written communication skills and the ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization. \nStrong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. \nAbility to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and respond to changing priorities. \nProficiency with Microsoft Office and other business applications, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies. \nCommitment to safe work practices, environmental compliance, product quality and teamwork. \nPreferred Qualifications\nPrior molten metal and manufacturing experience. \nExperience with casting operations, quality sampling, product traceability, equipment care, inventory or shipping activities. \nExperience using lean manufacturing tools, A3 thinking, continuous improvement or root cause analysis. \nWork Schedule and Conditions\nRotating shifts, including nights and weekends, with overtime and holiday work as scheduled or required. \nManufacturing environment with temperatures that may be below 50°F in winter and above 100°F in summer. \nRegular work around industrial equipment, forklifts, material-handling equipment and molten metal. Required personal protective equipment and all site safety procedures must be followed. \nPhysical ability to lift up to 50 pounds. \nLocation Profile\nNovelis’ Greensboro facility is located in Greensboro Georgia. With 140 employees it is the first stand-alone used beverage can recycling facility in the company now responsible for pioneering a majority of Novelis’ recycling technologies.
