Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Novelis has approximately 13,000 employees in 32 operating facilities on 4 continents.\nResponsibilities & Qualifications\nThe Novelis Bay Minette, AL team is seeking Maintenance Schedulers to work in the Bay Minette facility. The responsibility of the Maintenance Scheduler requires the planning and scheduling of maintenance jobs for electricians and mechanics, as well as contractors. The Scheduler also works directly with Maintenance Leaders, Reliability Planners, and Schedulers in other areas to plan and develop schedules for maintenance and expense project work. In addition, the Scheduler provides materials, drawings, work orders, work schedules, instructions, and maintenance manuals as required.\nResponsibilities:\nEmbrace the Novelis Safety Absolutes to build a zero-injury culture and the Novelis cultural beliefs of Be Authentic, Say Anything, Be Open and Built Trust\nOwn all maintenance work in schedulers' backlog and continuously work towards improving work management metrics\nReconcile all work orders from uptime and downtime, working with appropriate maintenance supervisors\nAssist crew leaders and associate leaders in finding the right maintenance work to fill production holes.\nReport metrics as requested.\nDevelop and coordinate Gantt chart schedules for semi-annual and annual outages.\nDetermine workforce availability and identify resource gaps for accomplishing required work\nConduct schedule review meeting with operations, engineers and maintenance coordinators / crew leaders\nDevelop rough schedule at least 2 weeks in advance with required labor hours identified\nConduct backlog review and assign priority based on the equipment that need to be service and the nature of the work\nCoordinate shared resource needs with other manufacturing maintenance departments and central maintenance to support plant priorities and needs\nCommunicate maintenance schedules (draft and final) with operations, maintenance leaders (incl. associates), and engineers as required\nDevelop and publish final maintenance schedules and print work orders (min. 1 weekday in advance for down day)\nAvailability to routinely work before and after standard work hours, particularly on shutdown days, typically 1-2 days a week.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nHS Diploma/GED or 5 yrs industrial experience\nPrevious experience in SAP\nAbility to work with operations, maintenance, engineering, other departments, and leadership (all levels of the organization)\nDepartment specific experience in maintenance, engineering, or operations (5 or more years preferred).\nDemonstrated passion for getting the right maintenance work done at the right time.\nAbility to learn SAP specific transaction requirements\nAbility to follow standard procedures on scheduling process\nAbility to communicate effectively across all subject areas in the department\nCommunication and organization skills\nExperience with excel\nPublic speaking skills for holding meetings\nPreferred Qualifications:\n2 Year Degree in a related field\nGeneral mechanical/electrical experience\nPhysical Requirements:\nNear constant standing with frequent walking and occasional sitting\nOccasional below waist level work, climbing, balancing, carrying, reaching over 15” away from the body, reaching above shoulder, fine motor skills, use of forceful motion, push/pull and lifting up to 35 lbs\nAbility to meet the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation\nAble and willing to work at heights\nWhat We Offer:\nNovelis' benefits say a lot about how we care for each other.
