This role is responsible for leading daily production activities, developing plant employees, and supporting operational excellence across the facility. The Operations Coordinator will partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives while supporting continuous improvement and employee development initiatives.\nResponsibilities\nPromote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements, as well as company policies and procedures.\nSchedule, direct, and support employees in the completion of production activities to meet operational goals.\nLead, coach, and develop employees to achieve production objectives while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.\nMonitor material availability, inventory levels, and production requirements to support uninterrupted operations.\nCoordinate incoming material deliveries and support efficient material flow throughout the facility.\nSupport First Line Leader (FLL) initiatives and projects that promote safety, employee development, continuous improvement, and business performance.\nAdjust work procedures and employee assignments to meet changing production schedules and operating priorities.\nSupport workforce scheduling, overtime planning, and employee timekeeping activities using Kronos.\nLead training activities related to new processes, equipment, and systems, including Kronos, SAP, and the Novelis Operating System (NOS).\nEnsure the Novelis Operating System is implemented and maintained according to established standards.\nMaintain accurate production records, reporting, and operational documentation.\nCommunicate production requirements, work instructions, specifications, and operating expectations to employees.\nMonitor production output, quality, and operating performance and prepare reports for leadership review.\nSupport furnace operations and process optimization efforts to improve recoveries and operating performance.\nIdentify opportunities to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and employee efficiency.\nInvestigate operating issues, support root-cause problem solving, and implement corrective actions as needed.\nConduct employee meetings and reinforce compliance with safety, environmental, and operational requirements.\nProvide supervisory coverage on weekends, nights, holidays, and other periods as required.\nPartner with Maintenance and Engineering teams to support reliable people, processes, and equipment.\nComplete additional duties and projects as assigned.\nMinimum Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED and two to three years of directly related supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related leadership experience.\nExperience leading employees in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment.\nAbility to read, interpret, and apply safety rules, operating procedures, technical instructions, and production documentation.\nAbility to communicate effectively with employees, leadership teams, and cross-functional partners.\nAbility to analyze information, solve operational problems, and make sound business decisions.\nExperience developing, implementing, and managing operational processes and procedures.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.\nAbility to work independently while leading teams toward operational and business objectives.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nValid driver's license.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAssociate's degree or higher in manufacturing, business, engineering, operations management, or a related field.\nExperience using SAP, Kronos, or other manufacturing and workforce management systems.\nExperience with the Novelis Operating System or other continuous improvement methodologies.\nExperience leading employee training and skills development programs.\nExperience supporting safety, quality, productivity, and cost improvement initiatives.\nExperience in aluminum manufacturing, metals production, or a related industrial environment.\nExperience working with production reporting, inventory management, and operational performance metrics.\nPlease note that we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. The facility cold rolls aluminum to a desired gauges anneals to tempers levels and slits the rolled sheet to size. The facility which employees around 100 people produces mill finish coils for the building construction and transportation industries where its’ products are used for gutters siding soffits and facia.
