This position supports safe, environmentally responsible and efficient recycling operations by receiving, inspecting, transporting, processing and feeding recyclable material to support Hot Metal and Remelt production requirements.\nThe ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable and comfortable operating mobile equipment in a fast-paced, team-based manufacturing environment. This role requires attention to detail, accurate documentation and flexibility to respond to changing operational priorities.\nResponsibilities\nSafely unload recyclable material from trucks and rail cars.\nOperate forklifts, skid steers, loaders, sweepers and other mobile equipment after completing required qualifications.\nLoad shred feeders and help maintain the flow of material to support production.\nMonitor control panels and operating conditions to promote consistent material flow.\nInspect incoming material and perform required quality checks, including moisture sampling.\nIdentify and report material, equipment, quality and operating irregularities.\nMaintain accurate receiving, shipping, inventory and production records, including timely computer data entry.\nTransport fines hoppers and other materials to support Hot Metal and Remelt operations.\nPerform basic equipment care and maintenance within the assigned scope of the position.\nComplete equipment inspections before use and report repair or maintenance needs.\nMaintain clean, organized and inspection-ready work areas.\nFollow all safety, environmental, quality and operating procedures.\nUse continuous-improvement and root-cause problem-solving methods to address operational issues.\nCoordinate daily work with team members, operational leaders, Maintenance, Quality and Environmental Health and Safety resources.\nPerform other operational duties as assigned to support plant needs.\nMinimum Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED.\nForklift experience.\nAbility to perform basic math calculations and complete written and electronic records accurately.\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to work rotating shifts, including days, nights and weekends, as well as overtime and holidays when scheduled or required.\nAbility to work in manufacturing temperatures that may range from below 50°F during winter to above 100°F during summer.\nStrong commitment to safety, environmental compliance, housekeeping and operational discipline.\nEffective communication and teamwork skills.\nAbility to organize and prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail.\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nBasic computer skills and the ability to learn Microsoft Office, SAP and other production systems.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrevious experience in manufacturing, recycling, material handling, logistics, Hot Metal, Remelt or the aluminum industry.\nExperience operating skid steers, loaders, sweepers or similar mobile equipment.\nExperience unloading trucks or rail cars.\nExperience inspecting incoming material, performing quality sampling or maintaining material feed rates.\nExperience using SAP or another computerized inventory or production-record system.\nAdditional coursework or training in manufacturing, recycling operations, mobile equipment, logistics, inventory control or a related field.\nWork Schedule and Conditions\n12.5-hour rotating shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule, averaging between 37.5 and 50 scheduled hours every other week. Planned rotation between days and nights approximately every two months.\nThis is a hands-on position in an industrial manufacturing environment. Employees may work around mobile equipment, trucks, rail cars, production machinery, noise, dust and changing temperatures. Required personal protective equipment must be worn, and all site safety and environmental requirements must be followed.\nLocation Profile\nNovelis’ Greensboro facility is located in Greensboro Georgia. With 140 employees it is the first stand-alone used beverage can recycling facility in the company now responsible for pioneering a majority of Novelis’ recycling technologies. Residents enjoy nearby Lake Oconee which includes several golf communities. In addition Athens Georgia - home to the University of Georgia and hundreds of cultural and sporting events each year - is a short drive away.
