This position supports safe, environmentally sound and efficient Hot Metal and Remelt operations by operating equipment, managing molten metal movement, supporting alloying and quality requirements, and maintaining production flow. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-based manufacturing environment.\nResponsibilities\nTransfer molten metal to holders in accordance with production targets and operating requirements. \nManage weighbelt speeds to optimize throughput and support consistent production flow. \nPerform required sampling, alloying, skimming and process checks to support product quality and specifications. \nManage dross handling activities to reduce waste and meet applicable shipping and documentation requirements. \nOperate qualified mobile equipment, including forklifts and skid steers, and perform equipment inspections before use. \nPerform routine trough and impeller maintenance within assigned scope and qualification. \nIdentify and communicate equipment, material, quality or operating irregularities through the appropriate channels. \nMaintain clean, orderly and PSEA-ready work areas while complying with Novelis safety, environmental and operating requirements. \nTroubleshoot problems using lean systems, including A3 thinking, continuous improvement and root cause analysis. \nComplete computer-based production records accurately, legibly and on time. \nCoordinate daily activities with team members and leaders to support EHSQ, production and reliability objectives. \nPerform other operational duties as assigned to support team and plant needs. \nMinimum Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED. \nAbility to perform basic math calculations and accurately complete required records. \nForklift experience. \nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds. \nAbility to work in manufacturing conditions that may range from below 50°F in winter to above 100°F in summer. \nAbility to work rotating day and night shifts, weekends, overtime and holidays as scheduled or required. \nStrong commitment to safe work practices, environmental compliance, housekeeping and operational discipline. \nAbility to communicate effectively, work collaboratively and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. \nAbility to use or learn computer applications, including Microsoft Office and SAP. \nPreferred Qualifications\nPrior manufacturing, Hot Metal, Remelt, molten metal, aluminum or industrial experience. \nExperience with mobile equipment, quality sampling, dross management, equipment inspections or production throughput. \nAdditional coursework or training in manufacturing operations, mobile equipment, logistics, quality or a related field. \nWork Schedule and Conditions\n12.5-hour rotating shifts on a 2-2-3 schedule, averaging between 37.5 and 50 scheduled hours every other week. \nPlanned rotation between days and nights approximately every two months. \nRegular exposure to industrial equipment, molten metal, heat, noise and other manufacturing hazards. Required personal protective equipment and all site safety rules must be followed. \nLocation Profile\nNovelis’ Greensboro facility is located in Greensboro Georgia. With 140 employees it is the first stand-alone used beverage can recycling facility in the company now responsible for pioneering a majority of Novelis’ recycling technologies. Residents enjoy nearby Lake Oconee which includes several golf communities. In addition Athens Georgia - home to the University of Georgia and hundreds of cultural and sporting events each year - is a short drive away.
