This role focuses on ensuring critical environmental control systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably in process areas, electrical and control buildings, administrative facilities, and other plant infrastructure.\nThe Industrial HVAC Engineer collaborates closely with Operations, Maintenance, Projects, and HSE teams to optimize system performance, support facility reliability, and maintain compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.\nKey Responsibilities\nProvide technical expertise and engineering support for industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems across LNG production and support facilities.\nEvaluate system performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, equipment availability, and operating costs.\nLead or support troubleshooting efforts, failure investigations, and root cause analyses related to HVAC and refrigeration equipment.\nDevelop and enhance preventive maintenance programs, reliability initiatives, and long-term asset management strategies.\nReview engineering deliverables, equipment specifications, design packages, system modifications, and vendor-supplied documentation.\nPartner with internal teams, contractors, and equipment suppliers during construction, commissioning, maintenance, and system upgrade activities.\nEnsure HVAC-related systems and activities comply with applicable safety requirements, engineering standards, environmental regulations, and company procedures.\nParticipate in Management of Change (MOC) reviews, risk assessments, hazard evaluations, and compliance audits.\nProvide engineering support for capital improvement projects, planned outages, turnarounds, and facility expansions involving HVAC equipment.\nMaintain current engineering records, drawings, calculations, and technical documentation to support safe and reliable operations.\nQualifications\nEducation & Certifications\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline is required.\nIndustry certifications or advanced training related to HVAC systems, refrigeration technology, or industrial cooling systems are preferred.\nExperience\nAt least five years of experience in industrial HVAC engineering within LNG, oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, refining, or other large industrial environments.\nHands-on experience with chilled water systems, industrial ventilation, building pressurization systems, refrigeration equipment, and critical climate-control systems.\nKnowledge of applicable industry practices and standards, including ASHRAE, NFPA, API, and OSHA requirements.\nExperience supporting equipment commissioning, plant startups, and operational troubleshooting activities is highly desirable.\nSkills & Competencies\nStrong understanding of industrial HVAC and refrigeration system design, operation, maintenance, and reliability principles.\nDemonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.\nEffective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and project teams.\nAbility to manage multiple assignments and prioritize workload in a dynamic operating environment.\nProficiency with engineering applications, HVAC load calculation tools, and technical document management systems.\nStrong commitment to workplace safety, operational excellence, asset reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nLocation:Downtown Houston, in-office (no remote availability)\nAbout Novetus Engineering LLCNovetus is unsurpassed in our commitment to achieving our objectives as efficiently as possible.
