are seeking a Senior Pipe Stress Engineer to join our project team in Houston, TX.\nResponsibilities:\nProject Leadership\nLead the full piping engineering scope for assigned projects, including coordination with international execution centers.\nOversee all pipe stress analysis activities for both new projects and existing facility issues.\nDevelop, manage, and enforce project schedules, budgets, and deliverable requirements.\nMonitor project progress and provide consistent reporting throughout execution.\nCollaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and clients to clarify objectives and define scope.\nOffice location is Houston, TX.\nPiping Design and Engineering\nProvide expert guidance on complex piping systems, applying sound engineering judgment and industry best practices.\nReview piping layouts, isometrics, and 3D models, including work produced by global offices.\nEnsure all designs comply with project specifications, applicable standards, and governing codes (ASME, API).\nPerform stress analysis, support material selection, and optimize pipe routing.\nSupport procurement activities for piping components such as specialty items, supports, and valves.\nOversee the checking and release of piping deliverables for downstream use.\nTeam Supervision\nMentor, supervise, and support junior engineers and designers.\nLead routine design reviews and ensure alignment across engineering disciplines.\nPromote a collaborative, efficient, and high-performing team culture.\nCoordination and Communication\nWork closely with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process safety teams to ensure proper integration of piping systems.\nReview and approve vendor drawings and documentation.\nParticipate in design reviews, HAZOP sessions, and project presentations.\nRespond to technical inquiries and manage design changes effectively.\nQuality Assurance\nImplement quality control procedures and conduct periodic design audits.\nConfirm that all deliverables meet project requirements and regulatory expectations.\nIdentify and address risks or issues that could affect project performance.\nQualifications\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).\nMinimum of 10 years of experience in piping layout, design, and pipe stress analysis within the petrochemical sector, including at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.\nTechnical Skills\nProficiency with design review tools such as SmartPlant Review and Navisworks.\nStrong understanding of piping codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, API, PIP).\nCompetence in material identification and selection.\nExtensive experience with Caesar II and preparation of pipe stress analysis reports for common piping systems.\nLNG project experience is preferred.\nKnowledge of AIV/FIV principles and screening methods is advantageous.\nExperience developing piping material class specifications is preferred.\nFamiliarity with NDE and piping system testing requirements is preferred.\nUnderstanding of valve applications and specifications is preferred.\nLeadership & Communication\nDemonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.\nStrong communication, analytical, and decision-making abilities.\nExcellent organizational skills and capability to manage multiple priorities.\nAdditional Skills\nFamiliarity with construction and installation practices.\nUnderstanding of project management fundamentals.\nExperience working on international projects or within multicultural teams is a plus.\nAbout Novetus
