Office is located in Houston, TX.\nKey Responsibilities:\nProject Leadership\nLead the full piping materials scope for assigned projects, including coordination with global execution centers.\nEstablish, manage, and monitor project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.\nTrack progress throughout project execution and provide regular updates.\nWork closely with project managers, engineering teams, and clients to clarify objectives and define scope.\nEngineering\nCreate, update, and maintain piping material specifications, classes, and datasheets for LNG and related facilities.\nOffer expert guidance on material selection for piping systems, including carbon steel, stainless steel, nickel alloys, and specialty materials.\nEnsure all designs comply with applicable industry codes and standards (ASME B31.3, ASME B31.1, ASTM, API, MSS, NFPA 59A).\nReview and approve vendor documentation, material submissions, and technical deviations.\nOversee the checking and release of piping deliverables for downstream use.\nSupport procurement activities by preparing requisitions and evaluating vendor bids.\nCollaborate with stress, process, mechanical, and construction teams to confirm material compatibility and constructability.\nProvide technical support during fabrication, installation, and commissioning.\nConduct failure investigations and recommend corrective measures when necessary.\nParticipate in design reviews and constructability assessments.\nMentor junior engineers and contribute to ongoing process improvements.\nTeam Leadership\nSupervise and guide junior engineers and designers.\nLead routine design reviews and ensure alignment across engineering disciplines.\nPromote a collaborative, efficient, and high-performing team environment.\nCoordination and Communication\nInterface with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process safety teams to ensure seamless integration of piping systems.\nReview and approve vendor drawings.\nTake part in design reviews, HAZOP sessions, and project presentations.\nAddress technical inquiries and manage design changes effectively.\nQuality Assurance\nImplement quality control practices and conduct periodic design audits.\nVerify that all deliverables meet project requirements and regulatory expectations.\nIdentify and mitigate risks that could affect project execution.\nQualifications\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.\n8-15+ years of experience in piping materials engineering.\nTechnical Skills\nProven experience with LNG facilities or cryogenic service applications.\nStrong understanding of piping codes and standards (ASME, ASTM, API, etc.).\nExpertise in material selection for low-temperature and corrosive environments.\nFamiliarity with MTOs, specifications, and procurement workflows.\nStrong analytical abilities and effective communication skills.\nKnowledge of NDE and piping system testing requirements is preferred.\nExperience with valve selection and specification is an advantage.\nDemonstrated technical leadership and sound decision-making.\nHigh attention to detail and commitment to quality.\nAbility to collaborate across disciplines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.\nLeadership & Communication\nDemonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.\nExcellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.\nCapable of managing competing priorities effectively.\nAdditional Skills\nExperience with U.S. Gulf Coast LNG projects.\nKnowledge of NACE standards and corrosion mitigation practices.\nBackground working with EPC contractors or owner/operator organizations.\nUnderstanding of construction and installation practices.\nFamiliarity with project management principles.\nExperience working on international projects or with multicultural teams is beneficial.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.\nExperience with Smart Reference Data (SRD) is advantageous.\nAbout Novetus Engineering LLCNovetus is unsurpassed in our commitment to achieving our objectives as efficiently as possible.
