This is not a pure management role, it is a take the bull by the horns, hands-on builder. You’ll be the architect, the builder, and the force multiplier-designing scalable systems while staying close to the code and shipping quickly using modern development tools, including AI/agentic workflows.\nYou’ll partner directly with leadership to translate business needs into technical solutions, define our architecture, and accelerate development velocity without sacrificing quality.\nWhat You'll Do:\nOwn the technical vision and architecture across all Novir platforms, including core applications, integrations, and infrastructure\nAct as a player-coach: write production code while guiding and leveling up other engineers and contributors\nLeverage AI/agentic development tools to dramatically improve speed, efficiency, and code quality\nDesign and build scalable, secure APIs and systems that integrate with internal tools and third-party platforms\nPartner closely with product, operations, and leadership to prioritize and execute against the roadmap\nTranslate ambiguous business needs into clean, pragmatic technical solutions\nLead development of internal tools including tracking systems, inventory systems, and operational platforms\nEstablish best practices across code quality, deployment, CI/CD, and system reliability\nEvaluate and implement new technologies that create leverage and long-term advantages\nTechnical Stack & Capabilities:\nStrong proficiency in JavaScript / TypeScript across the stack\nExperience with Node.js and modern frontend frameworks (React preferred)\nSolid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS - EC2, RDS, etc.)\nExperience with Docker, distributed systems, and backend services (Redis, nginx, etc.)\nFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, CircleCI, CodeDeploy)\nStrong experience designing and building APIs and system integrations\nComfort working across the full stack: frontend, backend, and infrastructure\nWhat We're Really Looking For:\nA builder’s mindset-someone who ships, iterates, and takes ownership\nAbility to operate as both architect and hands-on engineer\nExperience with patient tracking systems, EMRs/EHRs, lab integrations (HL7, FHIR, SFTP, API), and inventory logistics\nExperience using (or strong interest in using) AI-assisted / agentic coding tools to accelerate development\nStrong product intuition and ability to work directly with stakeholders and customers\nComfort operating in an ambiguous, fast-moving startup environment\nTrack record of building and scaling systems from the ground up\nExperience:\n6+ years of engineering experience, with increasing ownership over systems and architecture\nPrior experience in a lead, staff, or founding engineer role strongly preferred\nExperience working closely with business stakeholders to define and deliver custom solutions\nWho You Are:\nYou’re an Innovator -
