These pillars form the foundation of our company-wide commitment to sustainability, helping us achieve our ambitious goals through our wide-ranging initiatives.\nJob Description\nAssistant Press Operator\nSt. Charles, IL\nCompensation Includes\nPay Range: $24.64/hr - $32.17/hr + $1.00 shift differential for the 2nd shift &$1.50 shift differential for 3rd shift\nAvailable Shift\n3rd: 11:00pm - 7:00am, Monday - Friday\nOverview\nAssistant Press Operator position is responsible for consistently operating a zone of press machines at or above standard levels of operation considering waste, efficiency, and utilization. Troubleshoot, identify, and correct machine related problems through proper adjustments to various parts of the machine. Provide innovative solutions for production problems.\nResponsibilities\nReads and understands job jacket to ensure production is running according to specification\nPerforms machine make-ready to set it up to run proper production\nPerforms quality checks according to established procedures to ensure all Quality Standards (Color matches and Registration) are being met\nTroubleshoots defects and other elements of the process as needed\nRecords and maintains data related to downtime, including amount of time, reason for downtime, and actions to correct problem\nAssists operator with shift documentation and quality control checklists\nEnters daily production data on PC located at Press and adjustments to press that are controlled by computer\nPerforms machine trouble shooting and makes adjustments to correct quality or efficiency problems related to machine, set up, or mechanical defect\nSet web path per job and color rotation\nAssist with print set up during start-up\nKeeps all waste and scrap within company guidelines\nFills out all pre-make ready and make ready checklist\nEnsures correct inks are in place and are changed out when necessary\nAssist in removal of W.I.P pallets from press\nCreates load tags for finished pallets\nMaintains a clean and orderly work area\nComplete LOTO\nAssist in training of new employees\nQualifications\n2 years printing experience\nDemonstrated problem solving skills\nAbility to use hand tools to remove, install, and adjust parts of machine\nPrevious experience working in an assistant or press operator/pressman position is preferred\nPrevious working Flexo or Gravure presses is preferred\nPhysical Requirements & Environmental Conditions\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk\nUses hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools and controls\nThe employee frequently is required to talk and hear to communicate with crew members\nRequired to climb, stoop, bend and reach with hands and arms. \nThe employee is occasionally required to push or pull with hands or arms, kneel or crouch\nThe employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to distinguish shades and colors\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\nAbility to work independently and effectively with little to no supervision\nPositive work attitude and willingness to cooperate\nAbility to work in a team environment\nThe noise level in the work environment is consistently above 85 decibels\nAble to work with dust from paper converting process\nThe employee constantly works near moving mechanical parts and lift trucks\nAmbient temp and humidity may be elevated during the summer months\nCompany Benefits\nWhat You'll Get From Us\nBenefits\nWith safety as our top priority and a commitment to employee well-being an important focus, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits that include medical, dental and vision insurance as well as a variety of other well-being resources focused on mental, physical and financial health.
