These pillars form the foundation of our company-wide commitment to sustainability, helping us achieve our ambitious goals through our wide-ranging initiatives.\nJob Description\nAutomation & Controls Technician\nStockton, CA\nCompensation Includes\nStarting pay rate of $43.03/hour\nAvailable Shift\n2nd: 3:00pm - 11:00pm, Monday - Friday with Saturdays as needed\nMust be available to train on 1st shift (7am-3pm) for the first few weeks of employment\nOverview\nDiagnoses mechanical and electrical problems associated with all equipment in a manufacturing environment. Troubleshoots and maintains existing electrical and control systems of existing equipment. Uses basic hand and specialty tools for repair equipment in accordance with established safety procedures.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nRead blueprints & wiring diagrams for the installation & repair of equipment and the facility\nAnalyzes and resolves electrical problems\nTroubleshoots analog/digital electronic control systems, PLC programming, HMI systems and computer network communications\nAssists in directing plant electricians and mechanics as needed to complete repairs\nDocuments and implements work order procedure for new equipment/technology and the complete documentation of all system modifications\nInstalls and maintains Process Control Instruments, both pneumatic and electronic\nRepairs, calibrates and cleans all instruments, pressure switches, to insure minimal downtime and efficient utilization of pneumatic and electronic equipment\nDebugs and modifies programs to make them operational\nMajor electrical repairs including 3-phase, 440 & PLC, new installations of equipment, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances\nUses precision measuring tools/devices, hand tools and testing instruments\nInspects and test electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication, and power circuits\nIsolates defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment using testing instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter, testing lamp, or growler\nPerforms all work in accordance with established safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-out\nEnsures electrical work maintains the integrity of OEM requirements\nInspects completed repairs\nRequisitions new parts and equipment\nMaintains a clean and orderly work area throughout the shift\nCreates new tools to support production management\nRealize new project work as per production department\nQualifications\nPrevious related experience with PLC controls and logic circuits is mandatory\nHigh degree of knowledge of equipment and aptitude for understanding mechanical systems through formal training and/or education\n\nBe able to perform repairs (including electrical)\n\nTrained in lock out/tag out procedure\n\nUnderstanding of pneumatic, hydraulics, bearings, gearboxes, belts and pulleys, chains and sprockets\nMust possess or immediately purchase the required tools for this position\nMust be experienced in the following areas:Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)\nServo Systems\nDirect Current Drives\nAlternating Current Drives\nHuman Machine Interface Controls\nIndustrial motion controls\nPick and Place Automation\n\nMust be able to read, write & understand basic English\n\nMust take & pass (within allowable limits) a mechanical & electrical aptitude test\nWork Environment\nConstant noise levels above 85db\nConstant dry/dusty (paper) environment\nConstant work around machinery & forklifts\nSteel toed footwear, safety glasses & hearing protection, hair nets & beard nets are required\nMay experience temperature extremes based on outside temperature\nCompany Benefits\nWhat You'll Get From Us\nBenefits\nWith safety as our top priority and a commitment to employee well-being an important focus, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits that include medical, dental and vision insurance as well as a variety of other well-being resources focused on mental, physical and financial health.
