These pillars form the foundation of our company-wide commitment to sustainability, helping us achieve our ambitious goals through our wide-ranging initiatives.\nJob Description\nPosition Overview\n The EHS Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager at the facility and is responsible for providing focus, definition, and technical expertise for the development of a proactive Environmental, Health, and Safety plan that is consistent with Novolex corporate policies, vision, and values; and is in compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nDrive the development and implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and programs.\nMaintain updated OSHA and EPA-required written programs and develop/conduct training as necessary.\nOversee the reporting and investigations of any potential injury, accident, and/or health and safety-related issues.\nOversee and conduct the necessary environmental, health, and safety training to support and enhance the organization’s safety culture.\nDevelop and deploy policies, procedures, and programs to support best practices and identify best practices with the PTVE system.\nProvide communication and training to plant management, establish and maintain communications, reporting, assessments, training programs, and guidance.\nWork with the Corporate EHS departments and provide prioritized direction and technical expertise to the engineering organizations or contractors in implementing EHS projects.\nBe capable of sharing best practices to assist in driving change across multiple locations.\nHave a relentless pursuit of injury prevention, compliance, and risk reduction.\nBe capable of facilitating and sponsoring employee-led teams that solve problems and lead the location(s) to World Class Safety.\nBe capable of aligning the local team and influencing others to achieve the desired EH&S performance objectives outlined by corporate initiatives, business unit initiatives, and local/site initiatives.\nReview and analyze data to determine the next opportunity to improve EH&S performance.\nBring experience with innovative EH&S compliance and risk reduction techniques via employee engagement, behavior-based safety programs, risk assessments, and understanding of implementing, managing, and sustaining EH&S programs in a manufacturing environment.\nAssist in coordinating and managing the standard work for hourly safety coordinator.\nOther duties as assigned by the Facility Manager.\nQualifications:\nBA/BS degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering or technical discipline or related field.\nEnvironmental Health and Safety Certifications (CIH, CSP, CHMM) are strongly preferred.\n7+ years of progressive and related professional health and safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.\nEnvironmental experience is a plus.\nProficient in MS Office.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.\nSelf-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.\nStrong analytical skills as well as organizational skills.\nSolid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution.\nWell-developed leadership and motivational skills with a proven ability to influence and motivate others to quickly achieve results.\nAbility to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.\nAbility to travel (5%).\nMust be team-oriented with the ability to work on high-collaboration and performance teams\nCompany Benefits\nWhat You'll Get From Us\nBenefits\nWith safety as our top priority and a commitment to employee well-being an important focus, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits that include medical, dental and vision insurance as well as a variety of other well-being resources focused on mental, physical and financial health.
