This role monitors equipment performance, adjusts machine settings to optimize material flow and sorting efficiency, troubleshoots operational issues, and supports production goals. The Machine Operator maintains a clean and safe work environment, performs routine inspections, and works closely with maintenance and operations teams to ensure equipment reliability and product quality.\nEssential Functions & Key Responsibilities:\nOperate and monitor sortation equipment, including conveyors, optical sorters, shredders, metal separators, and screening systems. \nAdjust machine settings and operating parameters to maximize efficiency, throughput, and material quality. \nFollow production schedules and maintain consistent material flow throughout the process. \nTroubleshoot equipment and process issues to minimize downtime and maintain performance standards. \nPerform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs through established procedures. \nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. \nComply with all safety policies, procedures, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements. \nWork collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams to support production goals and continuous improvement efforts. \nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications:\nHigh School diploma or equivalent. \nEligible to work in the United States. \nSix months to four (4) years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, recycling, distribution, or industrial environment preferred. \nExperience in operating sortation, material handling, or other automated processing equipment preferred. \nBasic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. \nSuccessful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen. \nAbility to work a 12-hour shift. \nAbility to work overtime as required. \nAbility to follow safety policies, procedures, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements. \nAbility to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.\nPhysical Requirements:\nSit, stand, and walk for extended periods. \nLift and carry up to 50 pounds. \nPush, pull, twist, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb as necessary. \nReach, grasp, and perform repetitive motions. \nWork in manufacturing and recycling environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, vibration, and moving equipment.\nAbility to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safely work around industrial machinery and automated processing systems\nCompany Benefits\nWhat You'll Get From Us\nBenefits\nWith safety as our top priority and a commitment to employee well-being an important focus, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits that include medical, dental and vision insurance as well as a variety of other well-being resources focused on mental, physical and financial health.
