These pillars form the foundation of our company-wide commitment to sustainability, helping us achieve our ambitious goals through our wide-ranging initiatives.\nJob Description\nEnvironmental, Health and Safety Manager\nThis position is for Novolex.\nGENERAL SUMMARY:\nThe EHS Manager reports directly to the Plant Manager at the facility and be responsible for providing focus, definition, and technical expertise for the development of a proactive Environmental, Health, and Safety plan that is consistent with Novolex’s (PTVE) corporate policies, vision, and values; and is in compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations.\nDESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nDrive the development and implementation of EHS policies, procedures, and programs.\nMaintain updated OSHA and EPA required written programs and develop/conduct training as necessary.\nOversee the reporting and investigations of any potential injury, accident, and/or environmental health and safety related issues.\nOversee the necessary environmental, health and safety training to support and enhance the organization’s safety culture.\nProvide leadership and direct supervision for the site EH&S Coordinator.\nDevelop and deploy policies, procedures, programs to support best-practice and identify best-practices with the PTVE system.\nProvide communication and training to plant management, establish and maintain communications, reporting, assessments, training programs, and guidance\nWork with the Corporate EHS departments and provide prioritized direction and technical expertise to the engineering organizations or contractors in implementing EHS projects\nBe capable of sharing best practices to assist in driving change across the multiple locations\nHave a relentless pursuit for injury prevention, compliance, and risk reduction\nDrive the Zero Harm culture.\nDevelop and/or maintain an effective EH&S Committee.\nBe capable of aligning the local team and influencing others to achieve the desired EH&S performance objectives outlined by corporate initiatives, business unit initiatives, and local/site initiatives\nReview and analyze data to determine the next opportunity to improve EH&S performance\nBring experience with innovative EH&S compliance and risk reduction techniques via employee engagement, behavior based safety programs, risk assessments, and understanding of implementing, managing, and sustaining EH&S programs in a manufacturing environment\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nEducation:\nBA/BS degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering or technical discipline or related field.\nEnvironmental Health and Safety Certifications (CIH, CSP, CHMM) preferred.\nMBA or Masters level degree a plus.\nExperience\n7+ years of progressive and related professional environmental health and safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.\nExperience in an industrial manufacturing environment.\nKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:\nProficient in MS Office.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and the ability to communicate and influence at all levels within the organization.\nSelf-directed with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple accountabilities and multiple internal customers.\nStrong analytical skills as well as organizational skills.\nSolid project management capabilities with the ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously from origin through execution.\nWell-developed leadership and motivational skills with proven ability to influence and motivate others to quickly achieve results.\nAbility to work a flexible schedule during key business deadlines.\nAbility to travel (5% - 10%).\nMust be team oriented with the ability to work on high collaboration and performance teams.\nLEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES:\nResults Driven - Ability to focus on organizational growth, financial performance and achieving results.\nCritical Decision Maker - Clear, critical thinker that engages in thoughtful, data-driven decisions and has the ability to summarize and draw appropriate conclusions from complex data.\nCustomer Focused - Understands customers’ needs and places the highest priority on delighting customers.\nTeamwork & Collaboration - Builds rapport and collaborates effectively across the organization and fosters an environment of open and transparent communication. \nIntegrity & Trust - Demonstrates honest, respectful and trustworthy behaviors when engaging with stakeholders and achieves stated work obligations.\nCompelling Communication - Effective written and verbal communicator that clearly and succinctly conveys information across all levels.\nLeadership Courage - Exudes confidence and is a driven, assertive and decisive individual that manages conflict towards mutual solutions but also maintains composure during difficult situations and channels emotions effectively.\nStrategic Orientation - Ability to balance short-term goals with long-term organizational and functional strategic priorities.\nInnovative Thinking - A forward thinker who offers new, creative and often unconventional thoughts, opinions and methods for solution generation and problem solving.\nPeople Leadership - Ability to develop employees through coaching and feedback and holds team members accountable through modeling appropriate behavior.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
