These pillars form the foundation of our company-wide commitment to sustainability, helping us achieve our ambitious goals through our wide-ranging initiatives.\nJob Description\nPacker\nCity of Industry, CA\nCompensation Includes\nStarting Pay Rate of $18.64 - $20.64/hour \nAvailable Shift\n1st\n2nd \nOverview\nResponsible for catching and inspecting bags, ensuring that product meets our quality standards, with minimal waste.\nResponsibilities\nContinuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety rules and procedures. Must take immediate action to correct and/or report any unsafe conditions and hazards\nUtilize lockout/tagout as required, following established policy; ensure guarding is in place at all times\nKeep work area clean and organized, per standards\nEnsure that work is being performed in a manner to produce quality products, according to our quality requirements and specifications\nFollow all applicable food service policies and procedures\nFollow all PPE policies, wearing steel toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hair nets/beard nets, etc. as required\nMeet production targets set by management\nCatch bags as they come off machine\nInspect bags for flaws in quality, assembly, print or other problems, and reject those that do not meet standards set by management\nPlace proper amount of bags into sleeve in the press\nPlace labels on boxes, making sure they are marked correctly, neatly and are upright\nSpot check boxes to make sure correct count of bags are enclosed\nPlace acceptable boxes on skids by using proper lifting techniques\nPlace bundles of bags into poly bags when needed\nMust be able to keep up with budgeted machine speed\nKeep accurate production reports, ensuring all required forms are filled out completely, accurately and legibly\nIf no specific work instructions are given, clean-up is to be performed at your normal work area\nMeet/achieve safety, quality, production, waste and housekeepinggoals as set forth by management\nOther miscellaneous duties as assigned by management\nQualifications\nReading, writing and basic math skills are needed to complete paperwork\nThis is an entry level position\nMust have ability to discern detail and make decisions about bag quality\nMust be able to keep up with pace of machine\nCompany Benefits\nWhat You'll Get From Us\nBenefits\nWith safety as our top priority and a commitment to employee well-being an important focus, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits that include medical, dental and vision insurance as well as a variety of other well-being resources focused on mental, physical and financial health.
