This position reports to and takes direction from the Maintenance Manager / Plant Engineer of the designated location.\nEssential Functions & Key Responsibilities:\nPerform Preventive, Predictive, and Inspection related Maintenance on all installed machinery to include production and facility related systems.\nAbility to Maintain, overhaul & repair various types of equipment, systems, components, etc.\nAbility to problem isolate issues found during inspections and perform effective repairs as needed.\nAbility to provide concise reports using CMMS programs, and related forms.\nAssist with equipment retrofits/upgrades\nUnderstanding of common mechanical principles\nUnderstanding of electrical and electronic theory\nAbility to use typical hand tools and electrical instruments to perform functions involved in machinery inspections.\nPerforms all work in accordance with established OSHA, EPA and safety regulations\nGood attendance and punctuality required\nBuilding maintenance & repair:\nServicing of company vehicles and forklifts\nEngineering and tool room support\nMaintain a neat and orderly maintenance shop\nMiscellaneous duties as directed by supervisor\nQualifications:\nA minimum of 5 years experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing environment required\nUnderstand and read electrical schematics, machinery drawings, and pneumatic or hydraulic schematics.\nKnowledge of mechanical drive components and systems. To include gearboxes, belts, bearings, pulleys, sheaves, bushings, and other common mechanical components.\nUnderstand the range of lubrication requirements and devices used to properly lubricate a machine involved in preventive maintenance.\nKnowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic components and systems. To include valves, cylinders, flow controls, accumulators, and other common air or fluid components.\nKnowledge of electrical and electronic components and systems so that you could determine if parts are damaged, worn and require proper cleaning. In some cased replacement as determined by preventive maintenance inspections.\nUnderstand and skilled in the use of mechanical hand tools.\nUnderstand and skilled in the use of common electrical instruments. To include multi-meters, amp probes, thermocouple testers, temperature or pressure control testing equipment, and other various instruments required to properly measure devices in typically a locked out condition to determine if pending failures are present as determined by preventive maintenance.\nUnderstand water systems for both chill and cooling tower water systems. To include piping, valves, and assorted fittings. To include preventive maintenance for wear and pending failures.\nUnderstand heating systems used in ovens, and extruders. The ability to use instruments to measure resistances of heating elements for preventive maintenance.\nUnderstand vacuum systems used in resin material flow from source to end use and ability to inspect material lines and other control devices for wear during preventive maintenance.\nUnderstand Low Pressure air systems, compressors, piping, valves, flow controls, filters, and oil separators.
