This position serves as the department's subject matter expert and primary point of contact for resolving operational issues, coordinating daily dock activities, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Shipping Department Lead plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and leading department employees to achieve operational goals.\nResponsibilities\nAble to perform all the job duties of a Shift Lead in the areas of shipping and receiving, assigning work to their teams, as well as required paperwork and tasks\nEnsures that all dock safety procedures are being followed\nManages the training program, ensuring that training is effective and tracked\nWork with the Load Planner to ensure efficient dock scheduling\nEnsure that shift teams follow dock schedules\nEnsure that department personnel are following proper procedures to maintain the accuracy of all shipping and receiving operations, including outbound finished goods, blank transfers, and roll shipments, along with deliveries of roll stock, shippers, outsourced window blanks, pallets and sundry items\nReceives outsourced window blanks into SAP\nEnsures that received material is picked up from staging areas by responsible parties\nEnsure that Shift Leads are updating Open Dock with accurate status\nEnsure that drivers are being checked in and out professionally and efficiently\nOrder supplies as needed such as airbags and trailer seals\nTimely resolution of any discovered inventory discrepancies in finished goods or blanks\nEnsures that all office files and required documentation are maintained as required\nQualifications\nHigh School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field preferred\nMinimum of three (3) years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, distribution, or logistics operations\nPrevious experience in a lead, coordinator, or supervisory role preferred\nDemonstrated knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, inventory control practices, dock operations, and warehouse workflows\nAbility to safely operate powered industrial equipment, including forklifts; current forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification upon hire\nExperience loading, unloading, staging, and transporting materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment\nWorking knowledge of SAP, warehouse management systems (WMS), or similar ERP systems; SAP experience preferred\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel\nPhysically capable of prolonged standing and full-range movement (bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, reaching)\nAbility to read, write, and understand English sufficiently to perform job duties safely and accurately\nFlexible schedule, including potential overtime, weekend work, or call-ins based on production needs\nCompany Benefits\nWhat You'll Get From Us\nBenefits\nWith safety as our top priority and a commitment to employee well-being an important focus, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits that include medical, dental and vision insurance as well as a variety of other well-being resources focused on mental, physical and financial health.
