As a member of the Site Management Team, you will act as the site’s EHS specialist, Environmental Management Officer, Energy Management Officer and Occupational Safety Specialist.\nYou will work closely with site leadership, employees, local safety officers, the Energy Management Team, other German sites and the global EHS & Sustainability network.\nThe role & your impact\nThis is a hands-on role combining operational, tactical and strategic responsibilities. You will lead and continuously improve EHS and energy performance at Site Nienburg while collaborating across other sites in Germany and the region.\nAlongside day-to-day EHS activities, you will own management systems, support regulatory compliance and auditing, advise stakeholders and contribute to continuous improvement and global standardization initiatives.\nYour key responsibilities in this role\nLead and continuously improve health, safety, environmental and energy performance at Site Nienburg and across the German-site network.\nOwn the implementation and maintenance of relevant EHS management systems and certifications, including ISO 50001 and ISO 14001, and act as internal lead auditor.\nEnsure compliance with relevant safety and environmental regulations through risk assessments, incident root-cause analysis, risk mitigation, documentation and official communication.\nAdvise the Site Management Team and employees on environmental protection, energy management and occupational health and safety, and maintain relevant site EHS concepts.\nCoordinate training, emergency management, local safety officers and the Energy Management Team.\nCoordinate special-risk controls such as ATEX and X-ray, where relevant.\nWhat you'll need to be successful in this role\nMaster of Science or comparable degree in environmental management or a related field.\nQualification as “Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit”.\nMinimum 5 years of EHS experience, including essential hands-on experience.\nStrong knowledge of relevant laws, standards and regulations, including BImSchG, WHG, KrWG, ArbSchG, ISO 50001 and ISO 14001.\nExperience with audits, certifications, risk assessments, incident analysis, hazardous substances and emergency management.\nGerman and English language skills.\nAbility to lead, motivate and influence others without direct reporting lines.\nStrong facilitation, coaching, collaboration and stakeholder-management skills.\nProactive and strategic thinking combined with an analytical and structured approach.\nStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.\nA self-driven and accountable approach, with a high level of integrity and autonomy.\nAdditional skills & interests we value\nThe role may include additional written appointments, for example as radiation protection officer or explosion protection officer, depending on the relevant requirements and responsibilities.\nWhat we offer you\nYou will join a highly collaborative environment where EHS is closely connected with site leadership and operations. The role follows a hybrid working model, with the possibility to work remotely one day per week.
