You will work closely with operations, engineering, quality, EHS and external partners to maintain high standards of safety, compliance and operational excellence.\nThe Role & Your Impact\nIn this role, you will take ownership of the reliable operation, maintenance and performance of wastewater, sewage and water-treatment systems. You will combine hands-on technical expertise with environmental compliance, equipment reliability, contractor coordination and continuous improvement.\nYour key responsibilities will include:\nEnsure environmental compliance with MPCB, CPCB and other applicable requirements by coordinating statutory inspections, environmental monitoring, reporting, record keeping and regulatory submissions.\nEnsure safe and reliable operation and maintenance of WWTP, STP and WTP systems, including MF, UF, softeners, RO systems, water-storage tanks, pumps, pipelines and associated equipment.\nDrive equipment reliability through preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of pumps, motors, blowers, agitators, valves, filters, instrumentation and pipelines, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.\nManage environmental operations and waste management, including compliant handling, storage, documentation and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste through authorized agencies.\nLead contractors and day-to-day operational execution by allocating work, monitoring performance and ensuring safe work practices and high operating standards.\nMonitor and improve plant performance through water-quality monitoring, chemical-consumption control, environmental KPIs, process optimization, water conservation and technology improvements.\nWhat You’ll Need to Be Successful\nWe are looking for someone with the technical foundation and practical experience to take ownership of environmental and water-treatment operations from day one.\nBachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.\n8-12 years of relevant experience in environmental management and water-treatment plant operations and maintenance within a process or manufacturing environment, such as chemical, pharmaceutical, food or FMCG.\nHands-on experience in WWTP, STP and WTP operations and maintenance.\nStrong technical understanding of RO, UF, MF and softener systems, along with pumps, motors, valves, pipelines, dosing systems, and water-storage and distribution systems.\nWorking knowledge of MPCB/CPCB environmental requirements, hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, and environmental monitoring and reporting.\nExperience with preventive and breakdown maintenance, root cause analysis and equipment reliability.\nAbility to prepare and maintain SOPs, maintenance documentation and statutory records, and to support regulatory and internal/external audits.\nProfessional working proficiency in English.\nStrong ownership, analytical problem-solving and prioritization skills, with a safety- and compliance-focused mindset.\nEffective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate contractors, vendors and operational stakeholders.\nAdditional Skills & Interests We Value\nIt would be an advantage if you also bring:\nExperience using SAP PM or another CMMS for maintenance planning and documentation.\nExposure to ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and audits such as ISO, GMP or FSSC.\nExperience supporting CAPEX projects, automation or equipment-upgrade initiatives.\nInterest or practical experience in water conservation, sustainability and process optimization.\nExperience managing OEMs, laboratories, calibration agencies, environmental consultants or regulatory stakeholders.\nWorking knowledge of Hindi and/or Marathi for effective shop-floor communication.\nWhat We Offer\nYou will have an opportunity to work in a technically diverse environment where environmental performance, equipment reliability, safety and sustainability come together.\nThe role provides a broad interface across Production, Quality, EHS, Maintenance, Projects, Supply Chain and Procurement, as well as external regulators, contractors, OEMs, laboratories and environmental partners.
