{"id":3221647,"url":"https://alion.io/job/novonesis-maintenance-technician","title":"Maintenance Technician","company":{"id":1801046,"name":"Novonesis","domain":"novonesis.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/novonesis","size_band":"11-50","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Workday","truth_index":{"grade":"A","score":100,"open_postings":10,"ghost_share":0,"stale_share":0.1,"repost_share":0,"time_to_fill_p50_days":18,"computed_at":"2026-10-31T05:58:55Z"}},"role":"Field & Service","role_family":"Field & Service","seniority":"junior","employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Madison, United States"],"countries":["US"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":{"min":25,"max":38,"currency":"USD","period":"hour","gross":null,"usd_annual":76000},"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":2,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[{"name":"GMP","optional":false}],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-10-22T00:00:00Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-10-22","last_verified_at":"2026-11-01T02:47:05Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":10,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":10},"description":"Interested in a career that matters?\n\nJoin us as our new Maintenance Technician\nUnder direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician will be responsible for all repairs and preventative maintenance activities on cGMP process equipment, utility systems and facilities.\nIn this role you'll make an impact by:\nRepairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment typical of a probiotic manufacturing facility.\nCollaborating with co-workers to determine root cause of failures while making recommendations (and implementing corrective actions) to avoid or mitigate future events.\nCompleting required documentation (paper and electronic) for preventative and corrective maintenance, equipment start-up, decommissioning etc., in accordance with a cGMP quality system.\nMaintaining operation of cGMP utility equipment, including HVAC, Dust Collection, Coolers, Air Compressors, Lighting, Electrical, Water/Plumbing systems.\nResponding to unscheduled equipment downtime events and document activities.\nInventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies so that stock can be maintained and replenished.\nSupporting the training of maintenance and operations employees.\nProviding set-up and start-up support for operators as needed.\nAssisting in the improvement to enhance equipment or system efficiency, reduce energy cost/usage and other cost saving/avoidance projects.\nStrictly adhering to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and report all discrepancies\nWriting or modifying PM procedures.\nTo succeed you must hold:\nAssociates degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.\n2+ years of relevant experience in an FDA-regulated or controlled manufacturing environment, preferably food ingredient, live cultures, or pharmaceuticals.\nKnowledgeable in GMP, inspection guidelines, sanitation, food regulations, and product safety.\nExcellent communication, organizational, planning, problem-solving and follow-up skills.\nEnsures optimum operation of all production equipment and machinery by trouble shooting, diagnosing and repairing any problems in a timely manner and performing scheduled Preventative Maintenance.\nDemonstrates excellence in all typical maintenance functions and functional understanding of: motors, valves, heat exchangers, instrumentation, pumps, agitators, alignments, seal replacement, chillers, boilers, variety of tools, gear pullers, hydraulic press, drilling and tapping new threads, and office space related maintenance.\nAbility to work effectively as a team player and continuous learner.
