The position serves as the primary site leader coordinating contractors, engineers, suppliers, and stakeholders throughout construction, commissioning support, and project handover.\nRoles & Responsibilities\nConstruction Leadership & Site Management\nLead all site construction activities across civil, structural, mechanical, piping, and utility scopes.\nEstablish execution strategies, construction methodologies, and resource plans.\nDirect field teams and contractors to ensure efficient execution of work packages.\nServe as the single point of accountability for site construction performance.\nCivil & Structural Construction Management\nOversee earthworks, excavation, foundations, piling, concrete structures, buildings, roads, drainage systems, and underground utilities.\nEnsure construction activities are executed according to approved designs, specifications, and engineering standards.\nCoordinate interfaces between civil works and mechanical installation activities.\nMechanical Construction Management\nLead installation of process equipment, utilities, piping systems, HVAC, tanks, pumps, and supporting infrastructure.\nEnsure proper sequencing of equipment erection, alignment, testing, and mechanical completion.\nSupport commissioning and start-up readiness activities.\nResolve field technical issues in collaboration with engineering teams and vendors.\nContractor & Stakeholder Management\nManage EPC/EPCM contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.\nConduct contractor performance reviews and monitor productivity.\nLead construction progress meetings and coordinate stakeholder alignment.\nEnsure effective communication between project management, engineering, operations, maintenance, and safety teams.\nSafety, Health & Environmental Management\nPromote and enforce a zero-accident safety culture.\nEnsure compliance with site safety requirements, permit-to-work systems, and regulatory standards.\nLead risk assessments, toolbox talks, incident investigations, and corrective actions.\nDrive EHS compliance throughout project execution.\nSchedule, Cost & Risk Management\nMonitor construction schedules, milestones, and productivity metrics.\nIdentify critical path risks and develop recovery plans when required.\nControl construction budgets and manage variations, claims, and change orders.\nSupport forecasting and reporting to project leadership.\nQuality Assurance & Compliance\nEnsure implementation of QA/QC processes, inspection plans, and testing requirements.\nReview and approve method statements, inspection records, and construction documentation.\nDrive first-time-right execution and minimize rework.\nEnsure statutory, regulatory, and company compliance requirements are met.\nCommissioning & Handover\nCoordinate mechanical completion and turnover processes.\nEnsure punch-list closure and construction readiness for commissioning.\nSupport operational acceptance, training, and project handover.\nEnsure as-built documentation and final project records are complete.\nIn this role you’ll make an impact by:\nDelivering complex construction projects safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.\nLeading multidisciplinary civil and mechanical construction teams to achieve key project milestones and operational readiness.\nDriving construction excellence through proactive planning, contractor management, and risk mitigation.\nEnsuring seamless integration between civil infrastructure, mechanical systems, utilities, equipment installation, and commissioning activities.\nCreating a strong safety culture that prioritizes people, environmental sustainability, and operational integrity.\nEnabling successful project handover through disciplined execution, quality assurance, and stakeholder collaboration.\nTo succeed:\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.\nProfessional certification in Project Management, Construction Management, or equivalent preferred.\nExperience\n15+ years of experience in industrial construction, manufacturing projects, CAPEX projects, chemical/manufacturing industries.\nProven experience managing both civil and mechanical construction activities.\nExperience in greenfield and brownfield project execution.\nStrong experience in contractor construction management and commissioning support.\nKey Competencies\nConstruction Execution Leadership\nCivil & Structural Engineering Knowledge\nMechanical Installation Management\nContractor Management\nProject Planning & Scheduling\nCost and Risk Management\nEHS Leadership\nQuality Management\nStakeholder Management\nConflict Resolution and Decision Making\nOur purpose guides the way\nIn Novonesis, we know that solutions rooted in biology can help solve humanity’s biggest challenges.
