You will work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to solve real manufacturing challenges and support continuous improvement initiatives.\nThe Role & Your Impact\nAs a Process & Technology Intern, you will analyze data, investigate process performance, and contribute to projects that deliver measurable business value. You will gain exposure to multiple manufacturing processes while developing practical engineering skills in a dynamic production environment.\nKey responsibilities include:\nAnalyze manufacturing data and identify opportunities for process improvement.\nSupport operations across fermentation, recovery, granulation, and finished goods areas.\nParticipate in troubleshooting activities and root-cause investigations.\nAssist with process optimization projects and production trials.\nDevelop engineering calculations, technical reports, and documentation.\nCollaborate with operators, engineers, quality teams, and production leaders.\nPresent project findings, recommendations, and outcomes to site leadership.\nWhat You’ll Need to Be Successful\nRequired Education\nWe are looking for students currently pursuing a degree in:\nChemical Engineering\nBiochemical Engineering\nBiological Engineering\nMechanical Engineering\nIndustrial Engineering\nOr a related technical discipline\nRequired Qualifications and Competencies\nMinimum 3.0 GPA.\nSophomore standing or higher at the time of application.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nInterest in manufacturing, biotechnology, and process improvement.\nAbility to work independently while managing project responsibilities.\nEffective communication and collaboration skills.\nComfortable working in both office and industrial manufacturing environments.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\nAbility to arrange your own housing and transportation.\nAdditional Skills & Interests We Value\nWhile not required, the following qualifications would be beneficial:\nExperience with engineering projects through coursework, research, or previous internships.\nFamiliarity with manufacturing processes, process improvement methodologies, or data analysis tools.\nInterest in biotechnology production and industrial operations.\nCuriosity, initiative, and a desire to learn in a fast-paced production environment.\nWhat We Offer\nHands-on experience in a biotechnology manufacturing environment.\nMeaningful projects with real business impact.\nExposure to production, engineering, quality, and continuous improvement functions.\nMentorship from experienced engineers and technical professionals.\nOpportunities to develop problem-solving, analytical, and leadership skills.\nA collaborative culture focused on innovation, sustainability, and continuous learning.\nWays of Working / Working Conditions\nFull-time internship assignment lasting approximately 10 weeks.\nLocated on-site at our Milwaukee, WI facility. \nExposure to industrial manufacturing operations and equipment.\nOccasional use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering production areas.\nCollaboration with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, and quality.\nCompensation & Benefits\nExpected salary: $23/hr\nRelevant Information\nProgram Dates: May 24th, 2027 to July 30th, 2027\nPosition Type: Temporary position payrolled through a third-party provider\nApplication Deadline: October 30, 2026\nOur purpose guides the way\nIn Novonesis, we know that solutions rooted in biology can help solve humanity’s biggest challenges.
