This role partners closely with Nowpay’s finance team and Tech / Products / and Operations teams.\nThe employee will also be involved in the Loan Operations to ensure accounting treatment aligns with IFRS and applicable regulatory requirements, and serves as a key contributor to external audits, internal controls, and process improvement initiatives.\nKey Responsibilities\nPrepare and post journal entries - accruals, prepayments, payroll, depreciation and amortisation, provisions and intercompany charges - and review entries posted by Nowpay’s accounting team; perform account reconciliations and support schedules; ensure the general ledger is complete, accurate, and closed within established deadlines. Assists in the PO and PR process and budget tracking.\nMonth-End & Period-End Close: Assists and reviews journal entries posted by Nowpay’s accounting team, account reconciliations, and support schedules; ensure the general ledger is complete, accurate, and closed within established deadlines. Assists in the PO and PR process and budget tracking\nLoan Portfolio Accounting: Accounting for loan originations, interest income, fee income, and amortization of premiums/discounts and Rewards; reconcile loan sub-ledgers to the general ledger.\nAllowance for Credit Losses: Support calculation, documentation, and journal entries for the ECL allowance, including charge-offs, recoveries, and roll-forward schedules.\nFinancial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial statements and management reporting packages in accordance with IFRS; assist with variance analysis against budget and prior periods.\nReconciliations: Perform and review bank reconciliations and classification of all bank transfers, intercompany, clearing, and suspense account reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies timely.\nInternal Controls: Maintain and strengthen internal control documentation; identify control gaps and recommend remediation.\nAudit Support: Serve as a primary point of contact for external auditors and internal audit; prepare requested schedules and support documentation.\nProcess Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline close processes, automate reconciliations, and improve reporting accuracy and efficiency;
