The ideal candidate will have education, training, and experience in the construction field commensurate with the intended duties coupled with a high level of passion, commitment, and dedication to the health and well-being of others.\nResponsibilities\nSupport the implementation of HSE management systems that support the project needs. These will include site-specific plans and programs.\nProvide technical guidance to the assigned project.\nAssist management, supervision, and employees in the planning, recognition, evaluation, and mediation of risk.\nFacilitate and/or conduct HSE training for the project as needed, and assure training is tracked internally as required.\nLead or participate in investigation of incidents, including causal analyses, and prepare incident report(s).\nRegularly communicate the status of the project’s HSE culture and performance with project and Nox Management.\nProvide injury management from a site level and support workers’ comp case management.\nProvide timely and accurate reporting with internal and external support including, but not limited to, claims processing, return to work, light duty assignment, closure of claims, and resolving discrepancies as needed.\nProvide direction and guidance for any employees under your supervision.\nQualifications \nMinimum of three years of construction HSE experience preferred or a degree in OHS related field is acceptable in lieu of field experience.\nPrefer at least one year in a supervisory role (can be non-HSE related), and experience with the craft and work activities to be performed on the project (i.e.: electrical, welding, crane, and equipment operation, rigging, etc.).\nCapable of providing HSE management for small to midsize projects (≤250 employees).\nAbility to manage HSE teams of three or less.\nThorough understanding of construction work practices.\nExcellent written and verbal communication (includes use of proper grammar, spelling, etc.).\nAbility to foster compromise that meets the needs of operations while maintaining compliance with policy.\nAdvanced knowledge of behavior-based safety and human performance initiatives.\nAbility to positively motivate others and establish a positive and professional rapport with all employees, other site personnel and customers.\nAbility to lift 50 pounds, unassisted, frequently throughout the day.\nAbility to work from various heights via ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and other safe work platforms and area.\nAble to work a 40-hour work week, with overtime and off-hour shifts as required.\nAble to work in extreme weather conditions and elements, indoor or outdoor, including heat, cold, rain, mud, dust, and snow depending on the job location.\nEducation & Certifications\nNFPA 70E trained.\nNCCER Safety Technology* or other Nox-recognized certification and on path to obtain nationally recognized certification (BCSP, NASP, or other Nox-recognized certification provider) OR in an accredited degree program for occupational safety and health.\nExtensive knowledge of OSHA standards and any other applicable regulations\nOSHA 500\nCPR/AED/First Aid Certification\nSafety Level \nThis is a safety sensitive position, and all applicable policies including drug test and background check will apply.\nThe inherent responsibilities of your role mayinclude physical working conditions.
