We’re looking for an experienced people leader to join our Driver Training team as a Team Leader - Driver Training, leading a workforce of trainers and instructors delivering Driver Training, Safer Drivers Course (SDC) and support the Corporate Driver Training (CDT) programs across NSW.\nThis is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader who enjoys developing people, driving operational excellence and delivering exceptional customer outcomes, while maintaining strong safety and compliance standards.\nWhat You’ll Do\nAs Team Leader - Driver Training, you’ll play a critical role in translating operational strategy into frontline execution by:\nLeading, coaching and developing a team of driving instructors, facilitators and trainers.\n\nSupporting workforce capability, engagement and performance through coaching, ride-alongs and development activities.\n\nSupport coordinating day-to-day delivery of Driver Training, Safer Drivers Course and Corporate Driver Training programs.\n\nEnsuring high standards of safety, compliance, and service quality across all training activities.\n\nUsing performance data and operational insights to drive continuous improvement operational efficiency and utilization.\n\nPartnering with internal stakeholders to ensure workforce resources align with customer demand and business priorities.\n\nThis role offers a balance of leadership and operational involvement, with opportunities to remain connected to the customer experience through the delivery of training programs when required.\n\nCompany Vehicle\nA branded NRMA vehicle will be provided and assigned to the Team Leader for business use.\nWeekend Availability\nWeekend work is an essential requirement for this role. Ideally, the successful candidate will be available to work both weekend days either every weekend or every second weekend.\n\nWe understand that flexibility is important and are happy to discuss alternative arrangements with the right candidate to ensure operational requirements are met.\n\nWhat You’ll Bring\nWe’re looking for someone who can lead from the front and inspire high performance through collaboration, coaching and accountability.\nEssential Experience\nExperience leading operational, training, education, logistics or service delivery teams.\n\nCertificate IV in Transport and Logistics (Road Transport - Car Driving Instruction)\n\nDemonstrated people leadership experience with a strong focus on coaching and capability development.+5 years\n\nExperience managing workforce performance, utilisation, scheduling and operational delivery.\n\nStrong understanding of safety, compliance and risk management in a regulated environment.\n\nAbility to analyse performance data and translate insights into action.\n\nExcellent stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.\n\nCurrent Class C Driver Licence with a satisfactory driving record.\n\nCurrent NSW Driving Instructor Licence.\n\nCurrent NSW Working With Children Check.\n\nHighly Regarded\nCertificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE).\n\nExperience within driver training, transport, field operations or workplace learning environments.\n\nExperience supporting workforce planning, operational improvement or business transformation initiatives.\n\nExposure to digital learning platforms or technology-enabled training solutions.\n\nWhat's in it for you?\nAt the NRMA we aren’t just about discounts (although you do get these too).
