Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nMust be 21 years of age or older. \nSubmit to and pass the pre-employment Drug and Alcohol test. \nFingerprints must clear Public Safety and FBI checks.\nEducation and/or Experience:\nGraduated from high school or general education degree. \nTwo years of related experience and/or training. \nPreference:\nInupiaq speaking and cultural experience preferred. \nLanguage Skills:\nCommunicate (speak, read, and write) effectively in the English language. \nRead and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. \nWrite reports and correspondence. \nEffectively present information and respond to questions from the supervisor, staff, and public. \nMathematical Skills:\nAdd, subtract, multiply, and divide \nReasoning Abilities:\nDefine problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions\nCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:\nValid Alaska Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger and School Bus Endorsement. \nFingerprints must clear Public Safety and FBI checks. \nMust submit to and successfully pass State Drug and Alcohol testing. \nCertified in First Aid. \nOther Skills and Abilities:\nLift 70 pounds. \nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nObey all traffic laws and observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses. \nMaintain discipline when students are on the bus and report problems to the proper authority. \nKeep the assigned bus clean. \nFollow assigned route and schedule. \nCheck the bus before each operation for mechanical defects and notify the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness. \nTransport and discharge students only at authorized stops. \nComplete and attend all training sessions as required. \nAdhere to all District rules and regulations.\nPhysical Requirements\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
