If you join our team, you’ll be contributing to building the technology that powers the future.\nAbout the Role\nWe are hiring a Community Affairs Manager for West Texas to support the successful development and long-term operation of Nscale’s infrastructure locally.\nThis role sits within the Global Affairs function, reports to the Director of U.S. Community Affairs, and works closely with the wider business to ensure the project earns local trust and is delivered with minimal disruption to the community. You will act as Nscale’s on-the-ground representative, building relationships with local stakeholders and communities, managing engagement, and identifying and addressing issues early.\nYou will play a critical role in ensuring the project is understood, supported, and delivered successfully. This includes working with municipalities, elected officials, community groups, NGOs and other stakeholders, to ensure the project minimizes its impacts and maximizes its local benefits.\nThis role will suit someone with proven experience engaging a diverse range of stakeholders, who is comfortable working in complex environments with sometimes competing interests, builds trust easily, navigates different perspectives, and can confidently represent the voice of the community within the organization.\nThis is a locally based role that requires a regular on-the-ground presence in West Texas communities.\nWhat you'll be doing\nLocal Stakeholder Engagement\nAct as the primary local representative for Nscale, building and maintaining relationships with:\nMunicipalities and planning bodies\nLocal and regional political stakeholders\nCommunity leaders and representative groups\nDevelop and maintain a clear stakeholder map and engagement plan.\nCommunity Engagement & Communication\nDesign and deliver a structured community engagement program for the project.\nLead consultations, public meetings, and briefings, ensuring two-way communication with local communities.\nEnsure messaging is clear, consistent, and accessible across all audiences.\nIssue Identification & Management\nMaintain a detailed understanding of local community concerns and priorities.\nTrack and manage inquiries, complaints, and emerging issues with clear ownership and response plans.\nFlag emerging concerns early, including those raised by local officials, the media, or community members.\nProject Support & Delivery\nWork closely with program and contractor teams to ensure community engagement is embedded in delivery.\nProvide guidance to internal teams and contractors on how to engage with local stakeholders.\nEnsure community considerations are factored into key project decisions.\nLocal Impact & Partnerships\nDevelop and communicate the local economic and community impact of the project, including:\nJobs and skills\nLocal supply chain opportunities\nCommunity benefits\nIdentify and build partnerships with local organizations (e.g. education providers, community groups).\nReporting & Insight\nProvide clear briefings and updates to internal stakeholders, including senior leadership.\nMonitor the local civic and community environment and share insight on emerging issues.\nAbout You\n3-8 years of experience in community engagement, public affairs, local government, or a related field.\nStrong understanding of how local communities and decision-making structures operate (particularly local zoning, permitting, and county commission processes).\nExperience working on large-scale infrastructure, development, or construction projects is strongly preferred.\nStrong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility quickly.\nExcellent communication skills - able to explain complex projects clearly and confidently.\nComfortable acting as the local “face” of a project and representing the organization externally.\nAble to manage competing priorities and operate effectively under pressure.\nHighly organized, with strong attention to detail and follow-through.\nExperience working in politically sensitive or regulated environments.\nKnowledge of the local area (West Texas/Permian Basin) or similar communities is highly desirable, and Spanish proficiency is a plus.\nWhat we can offer you\nAt Nscale, you'll find a collaborative, supportive, and innovative environment where your contributions spark real impact.
