Collaboration is key, and we work together swiftly and respectfully, embracing adaptability and resilience in all we do.\nInfrastructure IT Operations Engineer (Batam)\nThe Infrastructure IT Operations Engineer will be responsible for overseeing IT infrastructure, service delivery, and operational excellence across Nscale’s Batam sites. This role ensures high availability, security, and performance of enterprise systems and site-level IT environments supporting critical Data Centre operations.\nYou will lead regional IT teams and vendors, drive operational standards, ensure compliance, and act as the primary escalation point for IT-related matters within the region.\nThis is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical depth, operational discipline, and experience in mission-critical environments.\n\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nRegional IT Operations Management\nLead day-to-day IT operations across multiple sites within the APAC region\nEnsure high availability of enterprise IT systems and site-level infrastructure\nOversee network, systems, end-user computing, and on-site IT support\nImplement and enforce IT operational standards and best practices\nInfrastructure & Systems\nManage regional network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs)\nOversee server environments (on-prem and cloud)\nEnsure reliability of monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and security systems\nSupport IT infrastructure within Data Centre and operational facilities\nService Delivery & Support\nOwn regional IT service management (incident, problem, change management)\nEnsure SLAs and KPIs are consistently met\nAct as senior escalation point for critical incidents\nDrive root cause analysis and continuous improvement\nSecurity & Compliance\nEnforce cybersecurity policies and best practices\nEnsure compliance with company standards and relevant regulatory requirements\nPartner with InfoSec to implement controls and conduct audits\nVendor & Budget Management\nManage regional IT vendors and service providers\nOversee procurement and lifecycle management of IT assets\nManage regional IT budget and cost optimization\n\nAbout You\nBachelor Degree in Information Systems/Computer Engineering or equivalent\nAt least 5+ years in IT Infrastructure and Operations managing regional/multi-site environment\nExperience in Enterprise Networking (Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet), Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)\nExperience in Data Centres, mission-critical infrastructure, or high-availability environments preferred\nExperience working in fast-growth or scaling organizations is a plus\nStrong written and verbal English skills to manage tickets, document activities, and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and colocation (colo) providers\nStrong communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia\nStrong hands-on server repair experience\nData center / DC technician background\nFamiliar with IT hardware + DC environments\nComfortable with shift work (12hrs, 3-on/3-off, including nights)\nAdded advantage if have prior experience in network infra, GPU cloud / HPC exposure\nEqual Opportunities Statement\n We strongly encourage applications from people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, neurodivergent people, parents, carers, and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.\nIf there’s anything we can do to accommodate your specific situation, please let us know.\nThe responsibilities outlined in this job description are not exhaustive and are intended to provide a general overview of the position.
