If you join our team, you’ll be contributing to building the technology that powers the future.\nAbout the Role\nWe're hiring a Senior Security Engineer to join Nscale's Red Team, part of the global CISO organisation. Working closely with the Red Team Lead and your teammates, you'll deliver offensive security campaigns across cloud, infrastructure, enterprise environments, identity systems, endpoints, and applications.\nA core part of this role is using AI to change how red teaming gets done. You'll work with frontier and cyber-gated models from providers such as Anthropic and OpenAI, agentic tools such as Claude Code, ChatGPT, and OpenCode, and open-weight models. You'll build workflows that accelerate reconnaissance, vulnerability discovery, exploit development, attack-path analysis, and reporting, choosing models to balance quality, cost, and speed.\nThis is a hands-on, execution-focused role. You'll contribute to several campaigns in parallel, own your workstreams end to end, and partner with Detection & Response and Security Engineering to turn findings into measurable improvements.\nWhat you'll be doing\nRed team campaigns\nPlan and execute red team campaigns and adversary simulations with the Red Team Lead and your teammates.\nOwn scope, timelines, evidence, and reporting for your workstreams across multiple campaigns.\nEmulate real-world attacker behaviour, including initial access, lateral movement, privilege escalation, and persistence, to identify weaknesses across infrastructure, identity systems, endpoints, and applications.\nAI-enabled red teaming\nBuild agentic workflows that orchestrate multiple models and tools to accelerate offensive security work.\nEvaluate new models and tooling, including open-weight models where hosted models aren't the right fit, and integrate those that improve team throughput.\nBuild guardrails, logging, and human review steps to keep model-driven activity within scope and rules of engagement.\nOffensive testing and tooling\nPerform penetration testing across applications, APIs, identity systems, and internal services.\nDevelop and maintain offensive tools, scripts, and supporting infrastructure, increasingly model-driven.\nApply modern offensive tools and frameworks, and share tooling, techniques, and playbooks so improvements benefit the whole team.\nDetection validation and security improvement\nIdentify gaps in preventive controls, detection coverage, and response capabilities.\nPartner with Detection & Response to validate and improve detection logic and alerting, including through purple team exercises.\nCollaborate with Security Engineering to remediate vulnerabilities and strengthen system design.\nDocument risk, impact, and remediation clearly, and communicate attack paths in a way that supports prioritisation and action.\nPeer-review findings and reports, pair on complex attack paths, and contribute evidence-based recommendations to the team's roadmap.\nKPIs\nOn-time delivery of red team campaigns, including parallel campaigns\nDetection and alerting gaps identified and validated\nVulnerabilities remediated in partnership with Security Engineering\nTeam adoption of agentic workflows and automations, and time saved on red team tasks\nAbout You\n5+ years of experience in red teaming, offensive security, or penetration testing.\nProven experience conducting adversary simulations and complex attack chains.\nHands-on experience applying large language models to offensive security work, including experience with cyber-gated models.\nExperience building agentic workflows that orchestrate multiple models and tools, with sound judgement on model selection to balance quality and cost.\nStrong expertise across network, application, cloud, and identity security, with experience working in cloud environments and modern infrastructure.\nDeep understanding of MITRE ATT&CK and attacker methodologies, and hands-on experience with offensive tools and frameworks.\nAbility to own and deliver workstreams across several campaigns with limited supervision.\nComfort pairing with teammates, giving and receiving review, and handing off work cleanly across campaigns.\nNice to have\nExperience in AI infrastructure or distributed systems environments.\nExperience evaluating model capability for cyber tasks or securing agentic systems against prompt injection and tool misuse.\nFamiliarity with identity-based attacks, Kubernetes, containers, GPU-based infrastructure, purple teaming, detection engineering collaboration, or AI/ML system security testing.\nWhat we can offer you\nAt Nscale, you'll find a collaborative, supportive, and innovative environment where your contributions spark real impact.
