Our workplace embraces diversity and inclusion - it’s a place where you can grow, belong and thrive.\nYour day at NTT DATA\nThe Software Applications Development Engineer is a seasoned subject matter expert, responsible for developing new applications and improving upon existing applications based on the needs of the internal organization and / or external clients.\nKey responsibilities:\nDevelops applications that effectively accomplish client objectives and user needs.\nDesigns and writes code for applications and maintain applications databases.\nAnalyzes and edits existing software applications to improve and optimize functionality, fix problems, and enable their use on new hardware platforms.\nRemodels and adapts applications as needed to optimize performance.\nIdentifies specific client needs and preferences related to the application.\nTests applications extensively to ensure they are error and bug-free.\nInstalls applications and acts as technical advisor.\nCommunicates with relevant internal technical stakeholders to obtain information on project limitations, performance requirements, and interfaces.\nConsults with clients in the design phase to determine client needs.\nProduces software documentation following company software process and templates.\nParticipates in software product review meetings and team meetings.\nPerforms any other related task as required.\nTo thrive in this role, you need to have:\nSeasoned understanding of computer science, with specific knowledge of computer programming, application design, and user-focused features.\nGood team player who maintains the integrity of the team.\nExcellent attention to detail capabilities.\nAbility to understand and analyze complex systems.\nExtended proficiency in writing software using the Java Programming Language and a standard object library.\nSeasoned knowledge of software development process\nSeasoned proficiency with agile development such as Scrum\nSeasoned knowledge of software integrated development environments\nSeasoned knowledge in various programming languages such as (but not limited to) Java, Perl, Python, C++.\nDemonstrated analytical, organizational, and project management skills, using relevant information to make timely and critical decisions that affect cross-functional teams.\nAbility to handle client and customer issues tactfully and professionally.\nAcademic qualifications and certifications:\nBachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science or software engineering or related field.\nCertification in various programming languages, for example (but not limited to) Java, Perl, Python, C++ preferred.\nScrum / Project Management certification preferred.\nRequired experience:\nSeasoned Software Applications Engineering, Software Development experience, or related work experience.\nSeasoned experience with Programming Languages such as (but not limited to) C, C++, Java, Python.\nSeasoned experienced with Linux or Unix and Windows operating systems.\nSeasoned experience working with SQL.\nSeasoned project management experience and/or experience working in an Agile environment.\nWorkplace type:\nHybrid WorkingAbout NTT DATA\nNTT DATA is a $30+ billion business and technology services leader, serving 75% of the Fortune\nGlobal 100.
