Systems of responsibility include:\no Mechanical responsibilities includes chilled water systems and components, HVAC systems such as roof top units, CRAC/CRAH units, and humidification systems.\no Electrical responsibilities includes electrical/critical power distribution from the Utility/Generator main switchgear through the UPS systems out to the customer load.\no Fire Life Safety responsibilities includes wet sprinkler systems and pre-action sprinkler systems as well as their associated detection devices.\nTests performance of electromechanical assemblies and electronic voltmeters.\nReads blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical order to determine methods and sequences of processes.\nInspects parts for surface defects.\nInstalls electrical or electronic parts and hardware in housings or assemblies, using hand tools.\nAligns, fits or assembles component parts, using hand or power tools.\nOperates, monitors, maintains, and responds to abnormal conditions in facilities systems. Areas include: Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Life Safety, and Building Monitoring and Control.\nAnalyses systems to ensure best practices for both internal and external customers.\nProvides feedback to relevant teams on the effectiveness of existing standards and processes.\nWorks with contractors and consultants to review quality assurance for all system expansions, corrections, and upgrades.\nWorks with relevant teams to track and complete an aggressive preventive and predictive maintenance program.\nEnsures data centre operates at maximum operational efficiency, including analysing existing operating conditions, recommending new technologies and improving overall efficiency, and cost reduction.\nManages systems to avoid unplanned customer-impacting events.\nWorks with relevant teams to determine maintenance requirements for mechanical, electrical, and fire life safety systems.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nEnsures a regular, predictable attendance which is essential to satisfactory performance.\nKnowledge, Skills and Attributes:\nUnderstanding of the mechanical, electrical, and fire life safety systems used in a data centre environment including, but not limited to the following: electrical distribution and layout, Transformers, PLC’s, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, STS’, ATS’ PDU’s, Chilled Water Systems, CRAC/CRAH’s, Pre-Action Sprinkler Systems\nKnowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, NFPA 25, and compliance issues as well as building codes in regard to fire life safety\nCurrent knowledge in industrial safety best practices (i.e. lockout/tag out, arc flash protection, OSHA and state regulations)\nFamiliarity with data trending / tracking and analysis and the ability to utilize a PC based integrated critical monitoring systems\nAbility to process Hands and Eye requests as required i.e., Tape Rotation, Rack and Stack of equipment, inventory hardware, power cycle devices, patch cable install/removal\nDemonstrated hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting large commercial and industrial systems including:\no Chilled Water Systems\no Large Centrifugal Chillers\no Cooling Towers\no Heat Exchangers\no Water Treatment Systems\no VFD’s and Pumps\no HVAC equipment\no CRAC/CRAH’s\no Humidification Systems\no Water heaters\no Water/Air filters\no BMS and PLC Controls\no Emergency Standby Diesel Generator Systems\no Fuel/Oil systems,\no 480/277 and 208/120 electrical generation and distribution\no Static UPS Systems\no Double Interlock Pre-Action Systems\nExcellent communication skills, both written and oral\nProficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)\nAbility to communicate effectively with customers and internal staff and effectively work in team environment\nAbility to coordinate, supervise, and communicate with contractors who perform maintenance or upgrade work on these systems.\nAbility to learn quickly and address issues as they arise during normal working hours or after hours.\nAbility to operate in and promote a rigorous process-driven team environment\nAbility to logically analyze and solve problems\nAbility to effectively multi-task multiple projects\nAbility to operate Hand and Machine Tools (hammer, drill, saw, etc.)\nAbility to operate electrical tools such as a multi-meter or infrared camera\nAbility to operate a forklift\nMust be comfortable working in a high stress, fast paced environment with shifting priorities.\nMust be able to work on a shift which may require nights, holidays, and some weekends.\nPossess critical thinking and complex problem solving skills\nAcademic Qualifications and Certifications:\nRelevant high school diploma or equivalent required\nRelevant advanced qualification or equivalent work related experience required\nRelevant certifications such as:\no CPR/First Aid and NFPA70E Certification (can be gained during course of employment)\no Possession of an OSHA approved forklift certification or the ability to obtain one after hire is required\nRequired Experience:\nSolid demonstrated experience in a similar role gained within a data centre facilities environment\nSolid demonstrated experience in a mechanical/electrical position within critical facilities (preferably a data centre, hospital, semi-conductor, or power plant)\nRelevant demonstrated experience as a critical facilities maintenance team leader\nSolid demonstrated hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting large commercial and industrial systems including:\no Chilled Water Systems\no Large Centrifugal Chillers\no Cooling Towers\no Heat Exchangers\no Water Treatment Systems\no VFD’s and Pumps\no HVAC equipment\no CRAC/CRAH’s\no Humidification Systems\no Water heaters\no Water/Air filters\no BMS and PLC Controls\no Emergency Standby Diesel Generator Systems\no Fuel/Oil systems,\no 480/277 and 208/120 electrical generation and distribution\no Static UPS Systems\no Double Interlock Pre-Action Systems\nCompensation Pay Range\nThis position requires work to be done onsite at a data center facility and may require use of a personal mobile device. A monthly stipend will be provided to cover expenses incurred for using a personal device, if applicable.\nNTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location.
