In this mid-level position, you will have the opportunity to mentor entry-level mechanical engineers and actively contribute to the implementation of energy efficiency measures and sustainability initiatives.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead mechanical engineering projects, from design to execution, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize mechanical systems for data center infrastructure.\nSupport testing plans and corrective actions for optimization of data center equipment (CRAHs, CRACs, Chillers, AHUs, MAUs, humidifiers, etc.)\nParticipate in review of client expansions and sales opportunities to ensure the standard data center design can support the contractual mechanical requirements (IT load densities, cooling requirements, deployment layout, airflow balance, SLAs, outages criteria, space monitoring)\nSupport efficiency targets and KPIs for data center equipment and systems.\nTroubleshoot complex mechanical issues, providing technical expertise to support the team.\nParticipate in the implementation of energy efficiency measures and sustainability initiatives.\nMentor and guide entry-level mechanical engineers in their professional growth.\nPrepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for stakeholders.\nKnowledge & Attributes\nDemonstrate practical analytical skills to correctly identify the problem, determine the root cause, and provide sound business solutions.\nAbility to work with limited oversight on complex issues.\nStrong knowledge of mechanical systems and thermodynamics.\nBasic skills in Computer Aided Design (CAD).\nBasic skills in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).\nAble to analyze and interpret data from psychrometric charts.\nBasic knowledge of data center electrical systems.\nAbility to apply affinity laws to engineering analysis.\nEffective communication and teamwork abilities.\nProficiency with Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, BlueBeam\nAcademic Qualifications & Certifications\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.\nRequired Experience\n3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related field.\n1+ year of experience in data center or commercial HVAC engineering is preferred.\nPhysical Requirements\nWork from home environment.\nOccasional visits to Data Center environments, which may be under construction for client builds, and subject to loud noises.\nDaily usage of a computer and/or workstation keyboards and terminals.Regularly moves equipment and other hardware up to 25 lbs.\nFrequently move about inside and outside of data center / facility\nRemain stationary for long periods of time.\nAscend / Descend a ladder and perform duties atop a raised platform.\nPosition self in small spaces.\nOperate computer, peripherals, and other office equipment.\nPerform work during US business hours and time zones.\nWork conditions & other requirements\nWork onsite at a data center location.\nExposure to varying temperatures and loud noises.\nExposure to outdoor weather conditions.\nTravel required 10% of time.\nPerform work from a remote location with stable internet connection.\nMust be willing to occasionally work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, and early mornings to maintain communication with our global partners and counterparts in the organization.\nCompensation Pay Range\nFor roles residing in the US, we share pay and benefit levels to support pay transparency requirements. For other countries, we are more than happy to share our competitive pay and benefit levels during the interview process.\nThis is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable.\nNTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location.
