The candidate will build agents that plan tasks, call tools and APIs, and complete multi-step workflows, along with the prompts, retrieval (RAG) pipelines and integrations behind them. The role also requires daily use of AI coding assistants to speed up delivery.\nThe ideal candidate should be able to work with data scientists, software engineers, product owners and business stakeholders to take AI solutions from idea to production.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop and deploy AI agents and multi-agent workflows using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI or AutoGen.\nConnect agents to enterprise systems and data through REST APIs, SDKs, tool / function calling and MCP servers.\nWrite, test and refine prompts so that LLMs give accurate, consistent and safe responses.\nBuild RAG pipelines covering document ingestion, embeddings, vector databases and retrieval tuning.\nUse AI coding assistants (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor or similar) for development, testing, code reviews and documentation.\nPackage and deploy AI services using Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines on Azure, AWS or GCP.\nBuild user interfaces for human-AI interaction, including human review and approval steps.\nSet up evaluation and monitoring for accuracy, hallucinations, latency and cost, and act on the results.\nEnsure solutions meet security, privacy and responsible AI guidelines, including bias mitigation and prompt-injection safeguards.\nLead AI projects end to end, ensuring timely delivery and quality.\nMentor junior engineers, review code and share best practices with the team.\nPresent AI opportunities and project updates to senior management and stakeholders.\nSupport RFPs, RFIs, solution demos and proofs of concept.\nDocument prompt strategies, agent designs and outcomes for reuse across teams.\nMust Have Skills & Qualifications\n7+ years of overall experience in software engineering, data engineering or ML engineering.\n3+ years of relevant experience in AI / ML, including hands-on GenAI work.\nStrong hands-on coding in Python (C# acceptable alongside Python).\nHands-on experience building AI agents with at least one framework such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or Semantic Kernel.\nExperience with LLMs from OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), Google (Gemini), Azure OpenAI or open-source models.\nStrong prompt engineering skills for real business use cases.\nExperience with RAG, embeddings and vector databases such as Pinecone, Qdrant, pgvector or Azure AI Search.\nExperience integrating AI with applications through REST APIs, SDKs and tool / function calling.\nDaily use of AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or Cursor.\nWorking knowledge of at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP) and its AI services.\nExperience with Docker, Git and CI/CD pipelines.\nGood problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.\nExperience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.\nFront-end skills to build simple agent interfaces (React, Streamlit, Gradio or similar).\nExperience in client-facing delivery, pre-sales or proofs of concept.\nNice to have skills\nExperience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or agent-to-agent (A2A) protocols.\nExperience with LLM evaluation and observability tools such as LangSmith, Langfuse, Ragas or DeepEval.\nExposure to classic ML using TensorFlow, PyTorch or scikit-learn, and data processing with pandas, NumPy or Spark.\nKnowledge graphs (Neo4j) or graph-based RAG.\nEducational Qualification\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science or a related field.\nKey Competencies\nStrong ownership and accountability.\nAbility to work in cross-functional teams.\nAbility to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.\nAbility to adapt quickly to fast-changing AI technologies and business requirements.\nAbout NTT DATA\nNTT DATA is a $30 billion business and technology services leader, serving 75% of the Fortune Global 100.
