Experience a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive workplace where your ideas are valued, and your growth is supported.\nYour role at a glance\nAssociate Critical Facilities Maintenance Engineer is support the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation of critical facility infrastructure, including electrical, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, cooling, fire, and life safety systems in data centers or other high-reliability environments. The role assists with preventive maintenance, monitoring, emergency response, work orders, asset management, and continuous improvement of facility operations while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, with relevant technical certifications preferred. Experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, controls, facilities maintenance, CAD drawings, or data center environments is advantageous. Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and teamwork skills are required.What we are looking for\nKey Responsibilities:\nHelps to design, plan, install, and/or maintain mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other infrastructure systems in mission-critical, high-risk, or high-reliability environments such as data centers or utilities infrastructure.\nLearns by providing hands on assistance with all major systems within a facility or building such as electrical and HVAC systems and performs regular maintenance on all systems.\nEnsures proficient understanding of sensitive facility components that may be impacted by failures or malfunctions of infrastructure systems.\nSupports the analysis of current operating conditions and recommends new preventative and proactive methods for maintaining and monitoring facilities systems.\nSupports with evaluating facility standards and practices to improve maintenance procedures and ensure optimal operational efficiency.\nComplies with organizational and governmental safety standards and coordinates response to emergency situations and ensures that corrective measures are rapid and thorough.\nLearns the planning and installation of new facility systems and may work with multiple components including HVAC systems, air or liquid cooling systems, CRAC/CRAH units, power distribution units, fire systems, life safety systems, etc.\nLearns to repair all systems and monitoring and troubleshooting systems as problems arise.\nCoordinates with building administration to ensure common area services are properly provided to client and list services.\nAssists in ensuring facility assets and installations are accounted for and monitored within the relevant policies and reporting procedures.\nCompletes work order requests accurately and on time and within budget.\nMay be required to order parts and supplies for maintenance and repairs.\nProvides any other engineering activities as required by the Critical Facilities Operations and Maintenance management team.\nKnowledge and Attributes:\nSome understanding of safe work practices, which are set by safety regulations and legislation.\nSome understanding of sensitive facility components that may be impacted by failures or malfunctions of infrastructure systems.\nSome knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel and Outlook.\nSome knowledge of CMMS systems.\nSome knowledge of critical facilities operations and maintenance.\nSome knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and life safety monitoring and control systems typically used in critical environments.\nAbility to maintain a positive and professional working relationship with cross functional teams.\nGood communication skills, both written and verbal.\nDemonstrates good analytical skills, having an ability to analyze, refine, summarize, and clearly present data and information.\nPossesses passion for service, self-motivated, proactive by going beyond the call of duty and has an ability to handle multiple tasks.\nAbility to prioritize and meet tight deadlines and is comfortable working in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.\nAcademic Qualifications and Certifications:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering or related field.\nTrade Certification or state license in Electrical or Mechanical (HVAC) preferred.\nProfessional affiliations (7x24 Exchange, IFMA, Data Center Pulse, etc.) preferred.\nExperience required:\nEntry level experience working in a similar engineering role, preferably a data center environment.\nRelevant demonstrated experience in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, controls, or other technical engineering and maintenance field.\nRelevant experience interpreting blueprints/CAD drawings.\nRelevant experience in facilities / building maintenance.\nEntry level experience in designing, planning, installing and / or maintaining mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other infrastructure systems in mission-critical, high-risk, or high-reliability environments such as data centers or utilities infrastructure.\nWho we are\nAs the third largest data center provider, we operate over 150 data centers in more than 20 countries and regions.
