Our workplace embraces diversity and inclusion - it’s a place where you can grow, belong and thrive.\nYour day at NTT DATA\nThe Associate Software Development Engineer is an entry level subject matter expert, tasked with assisting with designing, developing, and testing software systems, modules, or applications for software enhancements and new products including cloud-based or internet-related tools.\nThis role is accountable for assisting with for detailed design for certain modules/sub-systems, doing prototype for multi-vendor infrastructure, and showcasing it internally or externally to clients.\nThis role designs and develops functionality in a micro-services environment working with APIs, telemetry data, and running ML/AI algorithms on it, working with both structured and unstructured data.\nKey responsibilities:\nDesign, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.\nDevelop and manage RESTful APIs or GraphQL to support front-end features.\nDesign and optimize database schemas (SQL or NoSQL) for scalability and performance.\nImplement security and data protection settings.\nCollaborate with Front-End developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.\nIdentify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.\nParticipate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding, debugging, and unit testing.\nTo thrive in this role, you need to have:\nProven experience in at least one major backend language (e.g., Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, Go, or Python/Django).\nStrong knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB/Redis) databases.\nDeep understanding of Microservices architecture and building/documenting robust APIs.\nSome expertise of data structures, algorithms, and software design with strong analytical and debugging skills.\nKnowledge of micro services-based software architecture and experience with API product development.\nBasic understanding of container run time (Kubernetes, Docker, LXC/LXD).\nSome proficiency with agile, lean practices and believes in test-driven development.\nPossess a can-do attitude and one that takes initiative.\nAbility to work well in a diverse team with different backgrounds and experience levels.\nAbility to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.\nSome proficiency with CI/CD concepts and tools.\nSome proficiency with cloud-based infrastructure and deployments.\nExcellent attention to detail.\nAcademic qualifications and certifications:\nBachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.\nRequired experience:\nMinimum 2 years of experience developing backend services using Java with Spring Boot\nStrong understanding of SQL and experience working with relational databases\nExperience building and maintaining backend services using JavaScript / Node.js\nAble to understand business and technical requirements and translate them into backend solutions\nProactive in providing feedback, identifying gaps, and suggesting improvements\nDemonstrates a strong willingness to learn, with an active and collaborative attitude\nFamiliarity with Quarkus (experience is a plus, not mandatory)\nExposure to modern backend architecture (REST APIs, microservices, etc.)\nExperience working in an agile or collaborative development environment\nWorkplace type:\nAbout NTT DATA\nNTT DATA is a $30+ billion business and technology services leader, serving 75% of the Fortune Global 100.
