The specialist will proactively identify automation opportunities, streamline repetitive processes, and implement solutions that drive operational efficiency and service excellence.\nAs part of a global support organization, the individual will leverage industry best practices to support diverse customer environments, maintain high service quality, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.\nThe role demands strong technical expertise in IBM z/DB2 infrastructure, collaboration with stakeholders, and participation in training and knowledge-sharing activities to enhance overall service delivery.\nIn this role, You will\nUnderstand functional requirements and translate business requirements into technical database specifications.\nProvide production support and release management for Db2 database environments.\nDesign, implement, and maintain physical database structures and configurations.\nBuild, review, test, implement, and support application database releases.\nImplement and manage RACF/ACF2 DB2 security rules, access controls, and authorization mechanisms.\nBuild and maintain High Availability (HA) and replication environments to ensure business continuity.\nCollaborate with application, infrastructure, and support teams to deliver stable and resilient database services.\nSupport database migration, upgrade, and data conversion initiatives.\nPerform root cause analysis and provide timely resolution of database-related incidents and problems.\nDemonstrate strong analytical and problem-management capabilities to resolve complex technical issues.\nProvide consulting services on database performance monitoring, tuning, capacity planning, and optimization.\nCoordinate with development teams during project implementations and release cycles.\nParticipate in infrastructure modernization, technical initiatives, and data center migration programs.\nSupport database evergreen initiatives including upgrades, patching, and compliance-related activities.\nIdentify and implement automation opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.\nEnsure adherence to ITIL processes, change management procedures, and organizational governance standards.\nRequired Qualifications\nTypically 8-12 years Hands-on experience in IBM z/Mainframe environments with strong expertise in DB2 Database Administration, database support, performance tuning, security implementation, automation, disaster recovery, and production support.\nDeep understanding of Db2 database architecture, administration, backup and recovery procedures.\nExperience in production support and database release management.\nExpertise in database performance monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization.\nStrong knowledge of RACF/ACF2 security administration and access management.\nExperience with High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and replication technologies.\nGood understanding of ITIL processes, incident management, change management, and problem management.\nExposure to automation and process improvement initiatives.\nStrong technical leadership and stakeholder management skills.\nExcellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.\nDesired Qualifications\nExperience working on large-scale, complex enterprise projects involving database architecture, implementation, and support.\nExperience supporting critical enterprise and banking applications is highly preferred\nStrong understanding of enterprise database security, compliance, and audit requirements.\nExperience in database migration, modernization, and infrastructure transformation programs.\nKnowledge of z/OS administration and related IBM z ecosystem components.\nFamiliarity with DevOps practices, automation tools, and database lifecycle management.\nExperience supporting mission-critical banking or financial services applications.\nExcellent problem determination skills and ability to identify, isolate, and resolve processing anomalies and system errors.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.\nAbility to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across global teams.\nBanking and Financial Services domain experience would be highly advantageous.\nJob
