The project aims to validate and ensure the quality of legacy applications as they are transformed into modern, scalable, and user-centric web interfaces, delivering seamless digital experiences for millions of customers. This role offers the opportunity to work on a modern and technically complex project, where quality plays a key role in ensuring reliable and high-performing solutions at scale. You will support the end-to-end testing of applications and ensure quality across the entire application flow, from UI and API interactions through to database validation. The role requires strong test automation experience, ideally with Playwright, as well as the ability to work with SQL to validate data and investigate application behavior at database level.\nWhat you'll be doing\nDesign, develop and maintain automated end-to-end test scenarios for web applications.\nPerform automated testing across UI and API layers.\nValidate application behavior across the complete flow: UI/API → application/backend → database.\nUse SQL queries to verify that data generated or modified through UI or API interactions is correctly persisted in the database.\nCompare expected vs. actual results at database level.\nValidate the outcome of transactions and API calls directly in the database.\nUse SQL to identify, prepare and validate test data required for different testing scenarios.\nInvestigate defects and perform troubleshooting across UI, API and database layers.\nAnalyze test results, identify root causes of failures and document defects.\nCollaborate with developers and other project stakeholders to ensure comprehensive test coverage.\nWhat you'll bring along\nDegree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable field\nHands-on experience developing and maintaining UI and REST API test automation using Playwright or Cypress\nExperience in manual software testing, preferably within Agile environments (e.g., Scrum)\nSolid knowledge of testing methodologies, test management, and QA documentation\nExperience working with test management tools such as Jira and Xray\nExperience writing and maintaining test specifications using Gherkin syntax\nUnderstanding of BDD concepts (hands-on experience with Cucumber is a plus, not mandatory)\nStrong analytical skills and high attention to detail\nBasic understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)\nExperience with version control systems (e.g., Git) is an advantage\nGood knowledge of SQL , particularly for:querying and validating application data;\nverifying transaction/API results;\ncomparing expected and actual data;\npreparing and identifying test data;\ntroubleshooting application issues.\n\nISTQB certification is considered a plus\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills in German are mandatory for this role\nExperience with PL/SQL and/or Oracle databases is nice to
