Make this the place where you belong, learn, and build your network.\nWe are looking for an experienced Linux Administrator to support SUSE Linux Enterprise Server environments across development, test, and production systems.\nThe role combines operational support, system administration, incident resolution, infrastructure integration, and continuous improvement. It operates within a 24x7 service model organized across three shifts. Candidates must be willing and able to work in shifts according to the agreed support schedule.\nWhat you’ll be doing\nProvide L2 operational support for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server environments across development, test, and production systems.\nProactively monitor Linux servers to ensure high availability, performance, capacity, and system stability.\nRespond to incidents and service requests within the agreed service-level targets.\nPerform advanced command-line troubleshooting involving system logs, services, processes, storage, and network components.\nParticipate in customer and internal bridge calls, clearly communicating technical status, service impact, actions, and resolution progress.\nSupport lifecycle activities, including operating-system patching, updates, and upgrades.\nPerform technical changes in accordance with established change and release management processes.\nPerform end-to-end SLES administration, including user and group management, file systems, storage, processes, and service control.\nManage software packages, patches, updates, and repositories using native SUSE tools such as Zypper and YaST.\nConfigure and maintain Linux security controls, including firewalls, SSH, access permissions, auditing, and system hardening.\nAdminister clustering solutions such as Pacemaker to support high availability and failover.\nMonitor system resource utilization and perform capacity and performance optimization.\nSupport virtualization environments and administer Linux virtual machines across different hypervisor platforms.\nProvide basic Windows Server administration support when required.\nSupport the integration of Linux environments with VMware, Hyper-V, Azure Virtual Machines, and other virtualization platforms.\nAssist with Azure-based Linux workloads, including virtual-machine provisioning, storage, networking, and monitoring.\nPerform basic network troubleshooting, including IP configuration, DNS, routing, port, and connectivity checks.\nSupport backup and restoration activities.\nCoordinate with backup teams to validate job completion and troubleshoot backup or restore failures.\nAnalyze infrastructure dependencies when incidents require investigation across multiple technical domains.\nCollaborate with network, storage, virtualization, cloud, database, and application teams to restore services.\nProcess incidents, service requests, problems, and changes using ServiceNow and SPC.\nTriage and prioritize tickets based on impact, urgency, and agreed SLAs.\nPerform root-cause analysis and document corrective and preventive measures.\nFollow structured incident, problem, change, and release management processes.\nEscalate risks, delays, and unresolved technical issues to the appropriate support or leadership teams.\nMaintain system documentation, operational runbooks, troubleshooting procedures, and knowledge-base articles.\nEnsure accurate ticket updates, resolution details, and shift-handover information.\nCollaborate with cross-functional infrastructure, application, database, SAP, security, and cloud teams.\nContribute to automation initiatives using shell scripting and other appropriate automation methods.\nIdentify opportunities to improve system reliability, performance, monitoring, and operational efficiency.\nProvide technical guidance, knowledge transfer, and mentoring to junior team members.\nStay current with SUSE Linux updates, security advisories, emerging technologies, and industry best practices.\nContribute to the continuous improvement of operational standards and service quality.\nWhat you’ll bring along\nHands-on experience administering SUSE Linux Enterprise Server environments.\nStrong command-line administration and troubleshooting capabilities.\nExperience supporting Linux systems in development, test, and production environments.\nKnowledge of Linux user management, file systems, storage, processes, services, and package administration.\nPractical experience with Zypper, YaST, repositories, patching, and operating-system upgrades.\nKnowledge of Linux security, including SSH, firewalls, permissions, auditing, and system hardening.\nExperience with high-availability clustering technologies such as Pacemaker.\nFamiliarity with virtualization platforms and virtual-machine administration.\nBasic knowledge of IP networking, DNS, routing, and connectivity troubleshooting.\nExperience with backup, restore, monitoring, and capacity-management activities.\nFamiliarity with ServiceNow, SPC, or comparable ITSM and ticketing tools.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.\nGood customer-facing communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.\nAbility to document technical activities clearly and accurately.\nNice to have: experience supporting Linux workloads hosted on Microsoft Azure.\nKnowledge of VMware, Hyper-V, Azure Virtual Machines, or other hypervisor platforms.\nBasic Windows Server administration experience.\nShell scripting or infrastructure automation experience.\nLinux, SUSE, Microsoft Azure, ITIL, or other relevant technical certifications.\nExperience supporting business-critical or SAP-related Linux environments.\nPrevious experience providing guidance or mentoring to junior administrators.\nWillingness and flexibility
