The ideal candidate will have a strong background in testing the implementation of data solutions on AWS infrastructure and a variety of core and supplementary technologies. This role requires a solid understanding of data engineering, cloud services, and the ability to assure quality solutions.\nThis role operates within an agile delivery team in a Data Factory model and focuses on technical validation of data pipelines, transformations, and analytical outputs to ensure high levels of data quality, accuracy, and reliability for a data migration transformation programme.\nWorking under the QE Automation Lead, the QE Test Engineer contributes directly to delivery outcomes by building and maintaining automated tests that validate data across ingestion, processing, and consumption layers.\nWhat you'll be doing:\nAutomated Data Testing\nEnsure Test data governance and quality control measures are implemented.\nDesign, develop, and execute automated data tests in line with functional requirements, non-functional requirements and acceptance criteria\nValidate data quality dimensions.\nImplement source-to-target reconciliation, schema validation, and transformation testing in ETL/ELT environments\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams in a multi-vendor environment to understand business requirements and translate them into technical testing solutions\nTest Development & Execution\nTranslate data mappings, business rules, and transformation logic into automated test scenarios\nDevelop reusable and maintainable test scripts using approved automation frameworks\nTest data feed pipeline migrations repointing from an existing Data Warehouse to a new AWS Data Lakehouse architecture, underpinned with AI ETL accelerators, Python/PySpark, SQL and YAML configs.\nTest initial bulk then deltas from legacy to new.\nExecute automated test suites as part of sprint-based delivery and regression cycles\nDefect Identification & Resolution\nIdentify, document, and track data-related defects with clear evidence and analysis\nWork closely with data engineers and analysts to diagnose issues and verify fixes\nSupport root-cause analysis of data quality failures and pipeline issues\nCI/CD & Delivery Support\nExecute automated tests within CI/CD pipelines and scheduled testing runs\nEnsure test assets are version controlled and aligned with delivery processes\nSupport release activities by validating data readiness and quality gates\nDocumentation & Reporting\nMaintain documentation for test cases, test results, and quality metrics\nProvide clear status updates and reporting on testing progress and outcomes\nSupport audit, governance, and compliance requirements related to data quality\nCollaboration & Engagement\nWork closely with the wider scrum team members: Data Engineers, Platform Engineers, Product Owners, Business SMEs and third-party partners to ensure connected technical testing solutions.\nUnderstand and review the implemented Unit tests for data processing applications\nWhat experience you'll bring:\nExperience in data engineering testing\nBPSS minimum, SC not mandated but strong likelihood may be required\nDeep understanding of AWS data pipelines, Data Warehouse, Data Lakehouse, ETL/ELT processes, data quality concepts, data infrastructure and related testing methodologies.\nExperience of building advanced and feature rich test automation frameworks from scratch using Object-oriented and scripted languages \nHas breadth of experience across different tech-stacks. At least two of the following: JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, C#, or Python, amongst others \nHas a depth of knowledge in the Object-oriented Programming paradigm (OOP) and has practically applied the principles \nExperience in AWS cloud services, AWS Glue.\nExperience with Python/PySpark.\nExperience with writing and running SQL queries.\nExperience with YAML configuration.\nExperience with CI/CD GITHUB Actions (or similar)\nKnowledge of AI-driven testing solutions and automation accelerators to maximize test efficiency and improve overall software quality\nSolid understanding of data feeds architectures and best practices\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically\nExperience with test coverage, defect management and reporting tools (e.g. JIRA, XRAY, ADO).\nGreat if you have\nExperience with Interface/ API testing.\nExperience with Non-Functional Testing\nAWS fundamentals (e.g., AWS Certified Data Engineer)\nExperience with HDFS.\nWho we are:\nAt NTT DATA, you have endless opportunities to think big, act bold and take ownership.
