This is a permanent position and requires an AGSVA NV1 security clearance.\nYou will lead a team of Cloud Engineers, a Java Developer and System Analyst, set technical direction, and ensure the reliability, security, and continuous improvement of Azure-based platforms operating in highly regulated government environments.\nThe Role\nAs the Technical Lead, you will be accountable for the delivery, and operation of secure cloud platforms. You will guide engineering standards, manage technical risk, and lead automation and resilience initiatives while working closely with delivery, operations, and client stakeholders.\nLead and manage a team of Cloud Engineers, a Java Developer and System Analyst providing technical direction, mentoring, and day-to-day guidance.\nOwn the reliability, availability, performance, and security of cloud platforms, ensuring services meet SLAs and compliance requirements.\nDesign and deliver scalable, resilient cloud solutions in Microsoft Azure, including PROTECTED environments.\nLead complex solution and platform design, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and best practices.\nDrive automation across infrastructure, deployments, and operational processes using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines.\nProactively identify and remediate platform risks, bottlenecks, and recurring issues to prevent repeat incidents.\nProvide technical leadership during incidents, including root cause analysis and implementation of long-term corrective actions.\nOversee monitoring, metrics, and platform health using cloud-native observability tools.\nAct as the senior technical point of contact for client engagement, onsite collaboration, and solution shaping.\nMaintain high-quality technical documentation, design artefacts, and operational runbooks.\nCollaborate with delivery and operations teams to continuously improve platform capability, performance, and cost efficiency.\nMaintain currency in cloud technologies, platform engineering practices, and government security requirements.\nTo thrive in this role, you need to have:\nYou are a hands-on technical leader who combines deep cloud expertise with strong people leadership. You are approachable, pragmatic, and focused on building reliable platforms and high-performing teams.\nProven experience designing, delivering, and operating cloud platforms in Microsoft Azure PROTECTED environments.\nDemonstrated leadership experience managing or leading cloud or platform engineering teams.\nStrong experience with ElasticSearch in production environments.\nProficiency in scripting and automation, particularly PowerShell.\nExperience supporting or developing Java applications on Linux, including performance tuning.\nProven experience with automated deployments and CI/CD pipelines.\nStrong working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, preferably Ansible and ARM templates.\nAbility to work full time from client premises in Canberra.\nDesirable\nExperience mentoring engineers and driving engineering standards and best practices.\nExperience with elements of the following technology stack:Infrastructure & Platform: Azure Bicep, Terraform\n Data & Streaming: HBase/HDFS (HDInsight), Kafka, NiFi, Azure Big Data services\nDatabases: Neo4j, PostgreSQL, Redis, Azure Cosmos DB\nObservability & Search: Kibana, Logstash\n APIs & Integration: GraphQL, WSO2 Identity Server / API Manager (or equivalents), Azure API Manager\nIdentity & Access: Azure AD, ADFS\n Applications: Java Spring Boot, React (or equivalent)\n\nITQSB certification highly desirable.\nWorkplace type:\nOn-site WorkingAbout NTT DATA\nNTT DATA is a $30+ billion business and technology services leader, serving 75% of the Fortune\nGlobal 100.
