If you want to be part of an inclusive, adaptable, and forward-thinking organization, apply now.\nWe are currently seeking a Technology Consultant - Functional Test to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).\nJob Title: Technology Consultant - Manual QA / Functional Test Engineer\nOverall Experience: 2 Years\nRole Summary\nWe are seeking an experienced Functional Test Engineer to validate business-critical applications and ensure software solutions meet defined business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.\nThe ideal candidate should have strong experience in manual testing, functional testing, business process validation, defect management, and regression testing. The role requires close collaboration with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Developers, and other QA team members to identify defects and ensure high-quality software delivery.\nDay to Day Job Duties\nExecute manual test scripts, business processes, and end-to-end user workflows in production-like environments.\nReview business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to develop appropriate test scenarios and test cases.\nPerform functional testing to validate application behavior against defined business requirements.\nIdentify and document bugs, unexpected system behavior, and usability issues.\nRecord defects with clear reproduction steps, expected results, actual results, screenshots, logs, and other supporting evidence.\nTrack defects through investigation, resolution, retesting, and closure.\nRe-test resolved defects to verify that implemented fixes address the identified issues.\nPerform regression testing to ensure application changes and patches do not impact existing functionality or critical business workflows.\nValidate end-to-end business processes across integrated applications where applicable.\nCollaborate with Business Analysts and Product Owners to clarify requirements and expected application behavior.\nWork with Developers to reproduce defects and support root cause analysis.\nParticipate in defect triage meetings and communicate testing risks, blockers, and quality concerns.\nMaintain test cases, test execution results, defect reports, and requirements traceability.\nSupport UAT, release validation, and production readiness activities.\nBasic Qualifications\n3+ years of experience in Manual Testing, Functional Testing, and Software Quality Assurance.\n3+ years of experience developing and executing test cases, test scenarios, and end-to-end business workflow testing.\n2+ years of experience with defect management, regression testing, and requirements/acceptance criteria validation.\n2+ years of experience using Jira, Azure DevOps, qTest, ALM, or similar test/defect management tools.\nCore Skills\nTesting: Manual, Functional, Regression, End-to-End, Smoke & Sanity Testing\nRequirements: User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, Business Requirements\nDefect Management: Defect Identification, Documentation, Retesting & Closure\nBusiness Validation: Business Process & Workflow Testing\nDocumentation: Test Cases, Test Scripts, Test Evidence, Traceability\nTools: Jira, Azure DevOps, qTest, ALM or similar\nMethodologies: Agile, Scrum, SDLC, STLC\nNice to Have\nExperience with API testing using Postman or similar tools.\nBasic SQL knowledge for backend data validation.\nExperience with integration and system testing.\nExperience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT).\nKnowledge of web and mobile application testing.\nFamiliarity with test automation concepts and tools such as Selenium or Playwright.\nExperience working in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare, Retail, or other enterprise environments.\nISTQB or equivalent testing certification is preferred.\nStrong attention to detail, analytical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills.\n\nAbout NTT DATA\nNTT DATA is a $30 billion business and technology services leader, serving 75% of the Fortune Global 100.
