Please note that this role will be on-site 5 days/week.\nPosition Summary\nThe Terraform/Java Engineer designs, develops, deploys, and supports secure, scalable data engineering applications, data pipeline products for ingestion and transformation, and shared platform capabilities within an enterprise data and analytics environment. This role combines strong Java and Python engineering expertise with Kubernetes, cloud, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, data integration, and operational monitoring.\nThe successful candidate will build reliable, production-grade data products and engineering capabilities that enable data solutions at scale. This individual will work effectively across engineering, platform, security, architecture, and business teams, and clearly communicate technical solutions, tradeoffs, and risks to varied stakeholders.\nWork Location\nThis role is open to candidates willing to work onsite from NTT DATA’s Nashville, Tennessee, or Plano, Texas office.\nDay-to-Day Job Duties\nDesign, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable data engineering applications, services, and shared platform capabilities.\nBuild and support data pipeline products for ingestion, integration, transformation, and delivery.\nDevelop production-quality solutions using Java and Python.\nDeploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized workloads using Kubernetes and Docker.\nBuild, maintain, and support CI/CD pipelines, with Jenkins as a primary day-to-day platform; leverage GitHub Actions or comparable CI/CD tools where appropriate.\nDevelop and support infrastructure-as-code solutions using OpenTofu and Terraform.\nBuild and operate cloud-based data solutions on AWS, applying appropriate AWS security practices.\nConfigure, maintain, and troubleshoot data flows using Apache NiFi or comparable data-flow platforms.\nMonitor application and platform availability, performance, and reliability using Prometheus or comparable observability platforms.\nDiagnose complex technical issues, perform root-cause analysis, and independently drive issues through resolution.\nCollaborate with engineering, platform, security, architecture, and business stakeholders to define and deliver technical solutions.\nExplain technical concepts, architecture decisions, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nProduce and maintain clear technical documentation, including solution designs, operational procedures, and deployment guidance.\nBasic Qualifications\n1+ years of hands-on experience with OpenTofu and 4+ years of experience with Terraform or comparable infrastructure-as-code tools and practices.\n4+ years of experience with Kubernetes.\n4+ years of experience developing and supporting production Java applications. Experience with Java 11 or later is preferred; strong Java 8 candidates with demonstrated modern Java and enterprise application-development experience will be considered.\n4+ years of experience using Git-based source-control platforms, such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or similar.\n4+ years of experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps Pipelines, or similar platforms; hands-on Jenkins experience is strongly preferred, as Jenkins is a primary CI/CD platform used by the team.\nPreferred Skills:\nExperience developing production-quality solutions using Python, particularly in data engineering or analytics environments.\nExperience with Docker and containerized application delivery.\nExperience designing, deploying, or supporting cloud-based solutions on AWS.\nKnowledge of AWS security practices, including secure access, identity, and deployment principles.\nExperience with data ingestion, integration, transformation, and pipeline development.\nExperience with Apache NiFi and Prometheus, or comparable data-flow and observability platforms, with the ability to quickly become productive in the team’s toolset.\nStrong problem-solving, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and issue-resolution skills.\nAbility to work independently, prioritize effectively, and take ownership of deliverables.\nStrong communication and presentation skills.\nAbility to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.\nExperience creating and maintaining technical documentation, solution designs, operational procedures, and deployment guidance.\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.\nTravel\nTravel requirements, if any, will be determined based on business and project needs.\nNice to Have\nExperience with enterprise-scale data pipelines, cloud database platforms, database administration, streaming, replication, resiliency, or performance engineering.\nExperience with SQL, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Cassandra, Microsoft SQL Server, CockroachDB, Kafka, or Flink.\nExperience with Splunk, JMeter, Udeploy, or related platform, CI/CD, and observability tools.\nExperience with data modeling, solution design, data warehousing, data governance, metadata management, data lineage, data quality, data privacy, or data protection.\nExperience with Tableau or Power BI.\nExperience working across technical and business teams in a large enterprise environment.\nNTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for U.S.-based positions. The starting pay range for this role will depend on the location of the successful candidate.\nFor candidates in both Plano, TX and Nashville, TN, the starting pay range is $104,240 - $130,300.
